It's nothing, man. That's my email I especially made for giving out on TD
Hey, if you don't mind me asking, where are you going to school?
I'd prefer not to give out any personal information, but I will say that I grew up in southeastern Louisiana, but am going to college out-of-state.

Hey, I'm right there with you. I got married and moved into a new house over the summer. My parents' house flooded in the storms, as did most of my friends and family members. It has been extremely hard to focus on school. If you ever need someone to talk to, email me at bryndenblackfish@yahoo.com
I've been around the LSU community for the better part of a decade and have gone through many life changes, emotional struggles, what-have you. I hope the advice you get in this thread helps.
I appreciate all of your advice, but I am not an LSU student. I think a lot of what you said can be transferred to where I go to college, though. I am so sorry to hear that most of your friends and parents + other family members' houses flooded. Y'all are very strong people for working through these tough times. I wish you the best of luck, and I really appreciate your advice, and even giving your email so I could email you if I wanted to!

I'm thinking there is an underlying cause here. Think about what's going on in your life. Is something affecting you? It may not be easy to spot.
I have some ideas about what could be the underlying causes for me...

Why would this year be different? Did last year turn out ok? Just wait it out.
Last year was great, but I was in a different living situation last year and it just felt different at this time last year than it does this year. I don't know, I'm just feeling out of it this year, almost as if I am in a daze, going through the motions.
In a Rut at College...Any Advice?

Hey y'all. I am recently returned to college and ever since I came back, I have just been in a rut. I'm losing interest in my fraternity (which is where I am living), I feel isolated, I am a little homesick, I'm having major trouble eating/sleeping, and I just don't feel the same passion for the school that I did when I left last year. I understand it is early in the year still, and I am confident that things will improve over time, but it is still upsetting because I really thought this year was going to be different than last, that I wouldn't be in a rut at the beginning of this year like I was last year.
And I also understand that a routine will make things better, but it still kind of sucks that I am not embracing school like I did towards the end of last year. And yeah, I was feeling down at the beginning of last year too and things worked out well, but this year just feels different. Any advice for me?
