Tulane and JMU are both in the CFP as part of the top five highest ranked conference champs. So, top 10 plus Tulane & JMU.
A century of public perception can’t change in a season
The real melt will occur if Bama gets in.

Thank God for the CCGs yesterday. It allowed the skullfukings of Auburn and the VOLS to go largely unnoticed.
ND, Virginia, Tulane in 9-11, and I would not be surprised to see the committee put a 2-loss Miami above Bama after Miami was snubbed last year.

That will in turn trigger a mass push to eliminate CCGs, or if they don’t, teams will opt out from playing them.
Ament is supposed to be a superstar, but dude needs a lot of work
I’m not on the Fire Banks train just yet. I attribute our defensive performance to attrition, injury, and youth. Given that he had us at the #23 and then #3 (ish) total defense in the previous two years, respectively, I’d let one more season play out.
Look at the bright side - The last Memphis coach to go to a P5 school beat Bama

We’re shooting like shite without two key contributors. Surprised it’s still a game at half

VOLS played with some energy in the first half, but they look gassed now after the battle last night. I’m sure they also feel slighted for not getting to the CG after beating #3; that has to contribute in some capacity to motivation.
This is not a Pearl team

Hell yeah, this is a S16 Barnes team if I’ve ever seen one!

I’m encouraged by our performance… and this is with both Gil and Ament not being major factors.

Kentucky is now a Football school, UF a basketball school.

UF is a basketball school, and Kentucky has nothing… *
The hitting coach (Elander) is now the head coach

and their kicking game is probably the worst in all of college football.

Hold on now…
VOLS will struggle to move the ball and OU will score at will. We’ll probably have a couple big plays, but unless the defense steps up - which they haven’t all season - I think we are in for a long night.

Give me Oklahoma in this one, 31-17
Top 5 is probably (not necessarily in order):

Ohio State
Indiana
Texas A&M
Alabama

Oregon, Georgia, Miami in the 5th spot, depending on the Saturday

TBD if BYU is for real..
3rd and Banks makes me miss 3rd and Chavis…

Simpson throws for 400. Bama wins by 21+.
