re: Paying for a contractor estimate
Yea I think giving a generic +/- 30% quote over the phone and then requiring some retainer or exclusivity before engaging in a firm price makes sense.
This is my feeling on it. We're doing a commercial build right now and currently looking for a general contractor. I'm having a fe...
Are you seeing moisture on the top of the slab now?
No moisture. The power was off for a few days when we first took over the space, and still didn't see anything. The floor will be floated as well. We had a general contractor out today to look at a few other things we'll need...
I don't want to put too much work into it. The building's owner gets to keep everything when we move out of the space, and we're hoping to do that as soon as we can if we're successful. If I had django money, I'd put down baby seal arse and call it a day. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with vinyl. ...

Appreciate the replies. It's in a commercial space. It had carpet glued down, which we had removed. The concrete is flat and in good condition. The flooring we got is pretty thick, like laminate. ...

Vinyl plank flooring over concrete

Posted by GatorBaiter on 6/7/16 at 5:14 pm
We are putting down resilient vinyl planks on top of concrete. We went to get a vapor barrier from Lowes and the guy there said we don't need to use that with this type of flooring? Does that sound right?...
The Wal-Mart Markets are usually pretty nice, and are in nice enough areas that there isn't a lot of trash around. I stick to those or online stuff. ...
Wow, the driver of that truck deserves prison time. Neither was right, but only one of them tried to kill someone because they were pissed off....

re: How would you handle this?

I'd let the 18 year old adult handle it on his own with the other adults he was with. ...
