I forgot to mention one other thing. The only reason the admission gets you 24oz is because of the TABC regulations here. If we could, we'd do an unlimited samples event. They tell us that we have to charge something for each 24oz, which is why recharges are only $2. We're not really trying to make additional money off of those cards.

Our event is modeled after GABF in Denver. Granted, no one is going to match the resources of the Brewers' Association but they also generate about $4,000,000 from ticket sales. We'd have a pretty badass festival with those resources at our disposal too :)
It's just myself and my wife, but I think our event is solid and you'd enjoy it if you like GABF.
Belgians, Big Beers and Barley Wines is one of my favorites too!

Our Houston date is May 21. First year in Houston for us, but we have a great venue and some awesome things lined up.

Hey guys, Chad here from Big Texas Beer Fest. Figured I'd help shed some light on the subject.
First, yes $39 is a lot for 24oz of beer, if that's all you're considering. But it's also a music concert and food truck rally. And a lot of our participants hand out free food/beverage samples. All your filtered/spring water is included (you don't have to buy it). In addition, you can buy another 24oz (12 samples) for only $2 and you can do that multiple times.
Someone asked if KBS would be there, and the answer is likely yes. We have had KBS at our festival every year it's been approved in Texas.
Someone else mentioned that only shelf turds would be available, but that's far from the truth. We're beer nerds first. Most beer festival organizers focus only on having a LOT of beers. We purchase more expensive beers so that attendees get the best experience possible. I won't blow smoke up your arse though; there are a lot of shelf beers there too. Which isn't so bad when you consider you can try everything you want 2oz at a time to see if you like it or not.
We've brought in our best music lineup ever this year. Whether you come Friday or Saturday it should be a great party.
If there are any other questions, please let me know!
