re: SEC rivalry games since 2000

Since 2006 Auburn has actually done worse than GT against Georgia.

We’re 11-3 vs. GT and 12-3 vs. the backup school.

How many SEC and Nat'l Championships does the backup school have since 2006?

True - I simply don't have a desk or a spot on a desk to "house" a desktop. Yes I could set it on the kitchen table or something, but with four kids under the age of six running around, I'm not comfortable just leaving it there.

Gaming Laptop Recommendation

Posted by AUcarlton on 6/8/20 at 11:10 am
Not enough space to build or buy a gaming desktop in my house. So I'd like to get a mid-range gaming laptop with at least the following:

- 17"+ screen
- RTX 2060 at a minimum
- Numpad

Looking around myself with a ~$1,800 max budget, there are plenty of options (though I would like to avoid having to shell out $1,800). But because there are plenty of options, I'm stuck in analysis paralysis...

Suggestions?

This thread has gotten off to a great start.

I watched Band of Brothers and The Pacific over the holidays. Both were powerful series but I think BoB was best. Showed humanity at both its best and worst.

Kinda tired of war for a while after those series. What do you recommend?

The Office for the 9th time. (How has no one mentioned this yet?)

BoB is one of my top 3 favorite series of all time.

We don't have live TV, but are still watching The Walking Dead when new seasons come to Netflix.

My wife and I have also binged and love the following : Dexter, The Killing, Homecoming, and Bodyguard.

I'm sure I'm missing some good ones.

Sure they are both successful college sports programs, but when referring to the biggest names in American sports history, professional teams are far more popular and recognizable to both the Average Joe and the avid sports fan.

Yankees, Red Sox, Patriots, Lakers, Bulls, Cowboys...All of those names would generally be more well known than the Oklahoma Sooners or the Alabama Crimson Tide.

1. Saban will retire. Now most see this as a resurgence, but it's quite the opposite. Saban and Alabama are so dynastic that casual fandom in CFB will decrease pretty heavily when the ride is over.

Come on. This is not golf and Tiger.

Yes, Alabama is currently the best team in the nation. They have been the best team in the nation more times than not since Saban arrived. But to think they are somehow the sole reason there is a bunch of casual college football fans is just ignorant.

Now, you could say there are a boatload of fairweather fans that will flock to the next dynasty, but they won't just stop being college football fans altogether once Saban leaves. When Tiger retires - there absolutely will be a drop-off in golf "fans". The same cannot be said of Saban and Alabama.

Never mind the missing word (the) and missing letter (p), this statement is wrong on so many levels.

I like this list.

That will change as Bowl games near, but honestly the OU fans (trolls) on here are more fun to rile up

Absolutely. Add UCF fans to that list, too.
quote:

In their last 3 games against P5 Bama has only put up 417 yards on 100 carries. The schedule before that was a cake walk. And OU is objectively better than any team Bama has faced yet.

The Bama run game ain't what it used to be.

Because OU allowed an average of 200 yards-per-game (5.48 YPC) to its last three P5 opponents who's average offensive rush ranking is 83.

Conversely, Alabama has rushed for an average of 141 yards-per-game (4.43 YPC) against its last three P5 opponents who's average rush defense ranking is 26.

Additionally, (if we get to be picky) I'm not sure where your getting your stats, but Alabama has rushed for a total of 422 yards - not 417 - against its last three P5 opponents.

I only included rushing stats because you only asked about rushing stats, but you have to understand (surely) that rushing and passing stats are somewhat related. Hint: the reason Alabama's rushing stats aren't "stellar" are because Alabama is ranked 7th in the nation in passing offense...who needs to run a ton when you can average 325 yards-per-game with a yards-per-attempt of 11.3???

Pretty cool, actually.

I agree and I'd be curious to listen in on the ESPN, CBSSports, etc. production teams.
At what point does the conference enforce the "South Eastern" or completely change the name?

I will always remember Junior for the hit on Reggie Brown vs UGA in '04. Holy crap, I can only imagine the reaction to that kind of hit if it had happened in 2018...

After reading some of these, it's funny how I remember more ridiculous performances against AU than performances of an AU player.

Is "funny" the right term to use there?

you have witnessed (watching live or in person) of a non-QB player on your team.

Mine has to be Tre Mason in the 2013 SECCG against Missouri. Not only was he gashing their d-line, but that was the good ole Gus days where he basically just kept running the same play until it didn't work. Only this game, it worked for 4 quarters.

What memorable games have you folks witnessed where you just sat back and watched one skill player completely dominate at their position all game long?
My wife would kill me if I walked out of the house in Dan's outfit - basketball/tennis shoes paired with a button down and slacks.

The fact that there is even a debate on who is the best WR when one of them won the Biketnikoff just shows the plethora of freaking talent there is in Tuscaloosa...

Oh, and I just threw up a little on my mouth.

He's no worse than Stephen A. Smith, either. They could easily be my two least favorite sports TV personalities...
