re: Moses to IMG

I thought Moses was no longer the #1 ranked prospect in high school football for 2017?
Lawrence is going to be really good, he shows great quickness in his video footage, and for a kid his size to have that is something we haven't had in a DT for a few years now.
He has high NFL draft pick ability written all over him. Hope his mind is made up and he is coming here for certain.

I almost said Steve Smith, but Cameron was not the O-Coordinator for the years Smith played for the Ravens. Even if he would have been it wouldn't have mattered, because Smith was already a great receiver when he was in a Carolina uniform before the Ravens.

People always talk about Cam and QBs, but I'd be interested to look at the types of WRs that flourished under his watch.
Good point actually, have there been any receivers that have really made a huge impact in the NFL where he was the offensive co-ordinator??
A highly rated 4 star recruit should end up being more than simply a chuck the ball into the endzone near the goal line receiver. At least we all better hope Sullivan can bring more to the table than just that, I would like to think we are selling him short to think that's the best he could be.

Back to the original topic, are Sullivan and Ferguson, from a football perspective, about the same from a size\athletic ability point of view?
If you have some comments to make on the primary material in the thread, cool, if not, why bother wasting anybody's time?
Taking the conversation back to the 3rd grade was pointless and isn't even relevant to the topic in the thread.

Point being you get the general idea, im not going to word for word make the exact same quote that does get attributed as "The Definition of Insane"

Who the frick are you the comic relief around here, get your unemployed arse back into your mom's basement where you belong.

I hope he ends up being more than simply a red zone threat, cause he has every other measurable to be outstanding, aside from questionable speed, if that 4.7 40 time is legit.
I'm wondering if somebody like Colston would be his ceiling or can he be similar but develop more speed once he is on the workout program here.
Colston has been a great player over his career, but can Sullivan become more explosive than that?

Agreed, but it is a fact we do need to start opening up the route tree and throwing slants and crossing patterns, you cant just throw down the sidelines every game and expect that to work.
The definition of insanity is to continue trying something over and over again and expect it to suddenly start producing excellent results, when it hasn't done so in the past.

Drake Davis is pretty much a can't miss prospect, but he runs around a 4.35 40 time, which is like Calvin Johnson, but Sullivan is simply not that fast is he??
I have seen times listed for Sullivan as low as 4.49 for the 40, and as high as 4.74, are these way off, which of these times are closer to the truth?

Does he have that kind of speed? I thought he ran around a 4.7 40 time tops? what are his fastest recorded laser timed 40's?
Mike Evans runs about a 4.5 40 yd time, which is elite for that size. If Sullivan gets his 40 times into that range, he will dominate virtually anybody.

How good should we expect Sullivan to be? Anybody here see him play live?
Does he have the speed to separate from SEC quality DB's. Everybody can see he is 6'5" or 6'6" and 220lbs roughly, but how good of hands does he have, and will he be used as strictly a possession type receiver over the middle, or are they going to try to send him long at times?
It will be interesting to see how good he turns out to be, its probably anybody's guess at this point.

I think he can be a more physical version of Demaryius Thomas, with possibly even more speed, because although Thomas is a big strong receiver, he doesnt play like it sometimes.
Even from limited amount of footage I've seen of Drake, you can tell he really likes to hit people more than Thomas. Some of those blocks he was throwing on people on his HUDL videos were flat out pancake blocks.

Aside from Drake's freakish athletic ability, the thing that is the most impressive about him, is that he loves to hit people as evidence by him going at people bigtime with his blocks.
That kind of toughness is very much needed in our WR corp. Its pretty awesome, we keep getting blue chip receivers who have so much talent, they beat our the previous years blue chip receiver recruits.
In order to remain as competitive as possible, its the way things have to be. If it results in the transfer of a couple receivers who get pushed out by the incoming freshmen receivers, then we know for sure we have the best guys out there on the field.

I don't know if people are fully aware of just how much talent this kid has, but athletic ability wise+size, we've never seen anybody at WR like him yet here at LSU.
This kid can flat out fly, and at 6'4" 220lbs or so, who will get even bigger, stronger, and faster while here, he could very well be like Demaryius Thomas with a much meaner streak. If you have seen his HUDL videos, you will know what I'm talking about. The kid loves to throw some vicious blocks out there.
He is a great, and I mean GREAT athlete and wer'e very luck to have him here. Now we just need to get our QB to get him the freaking ball! I can see him making an impact as a freshman.

Sabin, and Alabama are nowhere near an unbeatable team. People give that guy too much credit for being some sort of legendary coach or something.
Its not like he is some kind of football mastermind like Bill Walsh was, coming up with totally new innovative concepts well beyond their time.
To start with just need to get the depth on the offensive, and Defensive lines, and linebackers. We also need our QB to learn to read defensive quickly and efficiently.
It appears with our recruiting this year, the Defensive line is being handled, and we continue to get blue chip offensive line recruits as well.
Harris can be a really good QB, but they really need to teach him how to read defenses, and throw to the open man this offseason. Alabama is not the unbeatable juggernaut they think they are. They aren't the New England Patriots with Tom Brady at QB or something.

re: 4* RB/LB Devin White Commits to LSU GEAUX TIGERS!

Agreed 100%. White was the only running back we recruited for 2016, and its pretty clear the coaching staff is going to make him a RB.
Since everybody seems to believe we need linebackers so badly, we have to start trying to convert running backs to LB, I have a different solution. How about we just recruit kids whose primary position is linebacker in the first place??
If we cant even recruit full time linebackers, then we have some very large issues that need to be addressed immediately.

If he gets down to 230lbs, then he is exactly like our other backs sizewise, what makes him unique, is that he is about 30lbs heavier, and almost as fast as guys 30 lbs lighter than him.
I could see him dropping 10-15 lbs at most, but thats it. Once he gets in the weight room, he is going to lose bodyfat, and probably gain even more muscle mass.
D White has a freakishly huge frame, and can carry a lot more weight than our other backs with no problem.

No power backs are uber nimble, did you ever see Christian Okoye out finessing linebackers, there are roles for pure power backs in the NFL, always has been, always will be to one degree or another.
A 260lb back doesnt really have to be nimble to be successful in the NFL, you just use use your peed and size to run over people like a charging rhino. You think NFL line backers liked trying to tackle Brandon Jacobs in his prime?
Remember what he did to Laron Landry when the Skins played the Giants. Yeah, I realize Landry wasn;t a linebacker, but sizewise, he pretty much was one, and he got dropped like a sack of potatoes when Jacobs hit him.
