That weak conference went 3-1 against the SEC today. Likely Tuesday it will have three teams in the top 10 (Clemson, UNC, and FSU) as opposed to one SEC team.

By the way, FSU and the ACC owe you malcontented Tiger fans a debt of gratitude. You just spent a week praising the superiority of FSU's program under Jimbo then failed to lure him away with a substantial raise. This speaks loudly to recruits that the most sought after coach and Saban antidote in the country coaches in the ACC and prefers it there. That should make redirecting them to FSU or other ACC programs much easier.

Hard to buy good publicity like that. And if that wasn't enough, you just took the ire of the nation off post Winston FSU and made LSU the new pariah.

Merci

I hope Alleva realizes this. We can get Herman for 3.5 -4.0 MM/yr, which will offset the erroneous perception of the size of the incremental costs incurred for a non-Miles coach change (especially when Miles gets a new gig that reduces the yearly debt owed to Miles). Herman is 40. He came of age as the game was transformed. His tutelage is impressive. His resume is impressive. His persona us impressive. His future will be legendary. I hope he is ours instead of a coach we face over the next 2+ decades. He us cheaper now (for the transition), and unlike Jimbo, only will rise to the top salary after he wins a natty, and then would get such a pay level, and then it would be more than warranted/acceptable. Alleva: I completely hope you are strongly engaged in the Herman acquisition potential. UH is raising his salary to 3MM/year, so he can be had for a lot less than Jimbo, and in 10 years, is very possibly a household college football name. He already us among those who really understand the college football status and trend(s). I hope you are among those who realize this. QB development, offensive philosophy/competence and Saban-beating are LSU's biggest needs, and Herman offers these 3 critical areas, and my h more, all in a disciplined man with an innovative mind, with a great 2 decades of football ahead of him. That's my Herman pitch. I hope Sexton gets too cute, and that Herman is our guy.

I think you guys should consider cutting your losses. First you could compromise. You wanted Fisher and Muschamp. How about you just hire old Mussie as HC? I guarantee he'd jump. His only condition would be that you work Georgia Southern into the schedule. He wants some payback!

That failing, I hear Al Golden is sitting by the phone, all dressed up and no where to go.
DALSU could be Scott McKay. McKay posted about the 'wheels being set in motion on Sunday' on Facebook on Wednesday.

Or he could be the night custodian at East Louisiana State Hospital.

He was spot on. Most of the country thinks LSU boosters and fans are batshit crazy and classless for doing this.

Hey along with Jimbo, maybe you guys now get FSU's position as pariah. That'd be well deserved.

So what if you guys fail in your Jimbo fishing expedition and end up with good ol Les for the new season?

Talk about tension! No way Les can coach, recruit and interact with the community in a normal manner. Awwwkward.

Recruits have to know that it's a nasty situation into which they'd be walking.

Yeah at this juncture you may have to get rid of Coach Miles whether you land a trophy coach or not.

With the uncertainty at LSU involving head coach Les Miles, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher's name has been involved in the rumor mill involving a potential opening at one of his former employers. During his Wednesday evening call-in show, Fisher was asked in an indirect manner about potentially leaving FSU for another job in the college ranks. "I just want to let you know we love you as a coach and we also think that Florida State is the best place in the land to coach," the caller said. "What would it take for you to leave Florida State to coach for another school?" This is how Fisher responded to that question. "I'm happy where I'm at. I'm very happy here. I've got a great job," Fisher asnwered. "You don't ever get into that. That is why I don't ever comment on jobs - I made that statement earlier. That is disrespectful to both sides of it. "I love this place. It is a great place and it has been very good to me," Fisher added. "Hopefully I will end up being very good to it."

Granted as a Nole fan I don't want Jimbo to geaux. It could be that my extreme desire to hear that he's not leaving is skewing my understanding of his statement yesterday. It could also be that Jimbo is a master of double speak and managed to say exactly what each side of the coaching tug of war wanted to hear.

But I don't think so. That statement seems fairly clear that he is in fact happy where he is and intends to stay. Now he could have removed all doubt and have said, "I'm staying as head coach of FSU for the remainder of this season and next season." but even I know that such a statement can not be uttered before guarantee of FSU salary increases etc. Otherwise if FSU balks at matching an LSU offer and he has to take the better pay then he will be exactly like much reviled Nick Saban when he said he was staying at LSU and then bolted.

I think Fisher stays at FSU. Short of you guys making Candi reconcile with him and putting out a contract on Taylor Jacobs he goes neaux where....put I would not put it past you to try either of the aforementioned.

Well he may be fleeing today's release of the Kinsman v. Winston/FSU civil suit depo transcript.

First time any even slight shade of blame has been cast onto Jimbo. Before he only caught grief for defending Winston. Now it's a tad more serious.

You guys sure you want a piece of Jimbo?
