I would say all of it to his face. And I'll tell you why I would. Because he is driving this team into mediocrity. There are two differences b/w Miles and Archer is that Miles is a better recruiter and the talent of Miles' team covered up his short falls until last year. This year is even worse.

Lee was a redshirt freshman and put points on the board.
Lest everyone forget - when you play with a fr/so quarterback in the SEC you are spotting the other team 14 points from mistakes. Your defense has to be good enough to compensate. That's just the way it is. Don't believe me? Look at Matt Mauck, JaMarcus Russell and of course Lee. Mauck and Russell came back from terrible underclassmen performances and became good quarterbacks. Heck, Lee's stats were as good as Tommy Hodson's freshman stats, except for the pick 6's.
JJ clearly is not playing fast enough right now. Either he isn't mentally ready to be a starter, yet; or the coaching staff is holding him back. Right now it is probably a little of both.
If the offense can put points on the board with Lee under center, then you put Lee in the game. Our defense is not going to put Lee in the positions that he was in last year. Lee isn't going to be forced to play balls to the wall in shootouts having to go for broke every play. That's where he found himself last year.
Play Lee against Auburn and see where he can take you.

Lee b/c he is at least willing to release the football instead of taking sacks on 3rd/4th down.

To HomesickLadyTiger:
The problems with the offense right now are all a result of Les Miles being "involved" in the offense. He wants to play Big-10 run twice, throw once then punt to get good field position football rather than play "score lots of points" football that Crowton enjoys. Les Miles needs to get out of the way and let Crowton do his job.

First, you always start with the positives. After the UF game, there is only one: Chavis was a good pick as D-cord.
Problems:
1) Les Miles is getting in the way
2) Jefferson's practice habits/routine needs alteration
3) O-line is worthless
Suggested fixes:
1) Les needs to put the play-card down and stop calling plays from the sideline. Crowton was hired to be the offensive coordinator. Let him do his job. Studawa (however, you spell it) was hired to be O-line coach b/c he had proficiency coaching o-lines in the spread offense. Let him do his job. Right now Les is usurping the playing calling and trying to play "Jim Tressel field position" football. That Big-10 crap doesn't work in the SEC. As a result, our offense has zero identity. Les needs to make up his mind. Either he needs to be a Big-10 offense or he needs to be a spread offense. One of them must be dropped by the wayside. Seeing as he hired two assistant coaches specifically for their proficiency/expertise in the spread offense, it shouldn't be too difficult to choose which one stays.
2) Les Miles is so afraid of Jefferson becoming another Lee that he is turning Jefferson into Lee. The only difference b/w the two right now is that one threw ints and the other takes sacks on 3rd/4th down. Either way you get the same result -> the other team gets the ball. Jefferson's practice schedule needs alteration. Its time to get the stopwatch and every play he runs in practice should be blown dead at 2.5 seconds. He needs to be forced to have an internal clock that works. He must learn to play faster. Practice is where that happens, not games.
3) Every starter on the o-line gets a reality check by sitting on the bench for the rest of the series anytime he gives up a sack or misses his block. Ciron Black shouldn't see the field again this season unless injuries necessitate it. The rest of them should be worried about sitting down as well. That way they'll play with some intensity and passion. Of course, deciding which offensive scheme we're going to run will help most of the o-line problems by simplifying things for them. They won't have to worry about knowing two different schemes b/c they will be able to focus on one scheme.

A win is a win.
Satisfied? Not if UGA turns the ball over 4 times and we have to make a goal-line stand to win the game.
If it is a tight game for 60 minutes with high intensity on both side, then an ugly win will be just fine.

Castration.
Can't have a power running game when you've spent the last three years recruiting finesse blockers for the spread offense.
Put Shep in the game and keep the wildcat going.

Word from the "wife line" (my wife and Mrs. Crowton are friends) is that Les and Gary have been fighting quite a bit over control of the play calling.

That just about covers it.

Lets be honest about the goal-line stand.
3rd down 1 foot to go -> failure to give ball to Dixon = stupid. Receiver was open. CJ makes good play. = Poor play call by Miss St.
4th down 1 foot to go -> QB option Dixon free for pitch with wide open field and lead blocker - QB holds onto the ball = stupid
LSU won but they didn't beat Miss. St. Miss St. lost the game because they gave it away through stupid play calling on the goal line.
Anyone that thinks differently needs to rewatch the game. Miss St. blew our d-line 5 yards back to the LBs almost every play. They line up at the goal line and our LBs come up and make plays, but our line was pushed backward on both first and second down. Then Miss St. decided to stop running straight at us. Miss St. gave the game away.
Don't get me wrong. A win is a win is a win. 4-0 is 4-0. But I would prefer for us to be beating the other team instead of winning because the other team gives it to us.

One of two things happened
We got lucky b/c hell froze over OR
Our defense learns how to get off the field on 3rd downs.

I think he missed the fact that Miss. State had 4 turnovers. We won b/c in crunch time Miss St. stopped giving the ball to Dixon.

You clearly aren't watching the same football games I watched.
I plan on calling in and telling him the only prescription for vagitiitis is testosterone (or more cowbell... I can't remember)

They certainly don't play like it.

Peterson maybe, but Nevis only plays 1 in 3 plays. He takes the other two off and gets blow five yards off the line.
Testosterone and Identity
Posted by ahuddl3 on 9/27/09 at 11:22 pm
This year's team can be summed up in two words: testosterone and identity.
I'll explain.
Our defense doesn't have a testicle's worth of testosterone among the entire bunch. They have zero attitude. There isn't anyone like a Kyle Williams, Chad Lavallais, or Glenn Dorsey that lines up with a bad attitude looking to destroy the offense for no other reason than the offense had the nerve to attempt to run a play. This defense simply doesn't have a attitude.
Our offense has an identity problem. Miles spent the last three years recruiting a specific type of skill player and offensive lineman to run Crowton's spread offense. Now Miles is dipping his hand into the play calling cookie jar and trying to force us to be a power team. This is not a power football team. The personnel to be a power team isn't there. Plain and simple. Miles needs to stop interfering with the play calling (yes, many of you will dislike that comment) and let Crowton run his spread offense.

since when?
I didn't realize it was the rant that decided that our D sucked this year. I could have sworn it was the D's play on the field that decided they sucked this year.
