I wouldn't let Tubberville run the bingo table at a vacation Bible school. I sure wouldn't vote for that turd.
Which ever one can bail us out of Grubb's play-calling.

Glad to hear he has Shocco's lukewarm approval.
I said he was about as GOOD AS WE ARE GOING TO GET. Interesting my glowing approval doesn't meet your satisfaction. Who is hard to please now?

the mystique of playing here is gone and we dont have an ag gressive enough staff.
Very true and we currently have no one stopping the 'Shula' slide.
In the world of NIL college football, Bama takes whats left over from the schools with MASSIVE check books and donors with an agenda. It is what it is. History, tradition, location, etc have much less to do with it.

I do not have a good feeling at all about our athletic department.
Speaking strictly for football, you have good reason to be concerned. I believe Deboer and Bryne both do not have a grasp on the reality of the situation. And all I see is crusty band--aids and uncomfortable silence on the problems.

As for BB, based on our money and facilities, overall Oats is about as good as we are going to get and exceeds expectations from time to time so I can live with him.
Ty has some real untapped potential, but not with this coaching staff.

Don't think Deboer uses Saban to his advantage for anything. That shows a lack of wisdom. And Saban is on payroll to be there for that very reason.

Until Deboer is gone, Bama will continue to slide into the Shula era.

You see snowflakes... Deboar's soft folks, and his football team is soft.
Preach it Pow.
Like I said, Deboer and Oats have some things in common.
At Bama we HAVE to get good coaching. We can't buy 5 star talent at every position so the coach has got to coach-up what he has. And Deboer is never going to be the guy that can do that, to the Bama standard.
I'll say this....IF NIL had never happened, Saban would have never retired when he did.....NIL's affect on the way he coached and players attitudes WAS the tipping point that sealed the deal for him.
quote:

Maybe DeBoer was right about that thin line.....we aren't as bad as we thought.....
Deboer is 'Shula-like' delusional so I wouldn't base much from his evaluation of things.
quote:

You can’t coach hard anymore.
Whats defined as tough coaching or not tough is debatable. I believe by Deboer west-coast standards, he thinks he is tough. But I don't think Deboer will ever be accused of being too tough or disciplined in comparison to some other coaches.

Biggest place I see the lack of toughness is in the lack of fundamentals because the coaches won't demand standards. Deboer press conferences also seem to lack a certain grasp of reality as well. This is not getting into philosophy or in-game decisions.
NIL was a HUGE reason Saban retired. What 1987 said.
If we didn't have to worry about getting in the 'James Madison' into the playoffs, we'd have more room for the deserving teams......Playoffs need to be at 16.
College football is losing a lot of interest by people tired of seeing the inmates(players) run the asylums with NIL demands. I have never been less interested and our current coaching staff's approach only makes it worse.
Bama admin has some massive soul searching to do because we are heading in a 'Shula' direction with Deboer. We are not anywhere close to the Bama standard. Hate to say it but Notre Dame should have been there in our place. They would have given Indiana a better game.

Yes, I was pretty SHOCKED we went for the 4th down early in the second quarter in Rose bowl........Deboer and Grubb decided to go for it after a long time-out from the 34 yard line and thought running sideways out of shotgun with no blocking and defense that was sitting on run was a great idea. So yes, I am going to question their judgement.
