Not every day but several times a week. It was during the housing bust so several corporations were front page news. Not that it really matters, that wasn't really my point. My point was a) people don't always know when they are being let go no matter the chatter, b) people sometimes know and don't let on to outsiders they know and c) know but don't say they know to abide by wishes of those involved.

Lol no they didn't. Big wigs from out of state flew in and delivered the news to everyone at the same time.

People outside of our office from competing companies told us the "rumors" our division was going to be shut down. Obviously the top of the food chain made the decision and word got around to competitors. Our division, although large, was very small relative to the size of the corporation. Our division knew nothing, not even the op dog who ran our division.

Gee I don't know. I worked for a large corporation that shut down an entire division and laid off 350 people includingthe head honchos and no one had a clue. Absolutely no clue.
