This is actually a legit concern. You guys have a bunch of future first round picks on defense and Aranda is one of the top 5 DC's in the country. The guy just flat out gets how to coach a defense.

Yes! This is super relatable. I actually yell this at her sometimes (her meatloaf is incredible). She loves that movie. My mom is not typical. She still likes to throw down. haha

She's a Cuse grad and diehard Orange fan. She was at the law school when we were actually a good program still. This was during the McNabb, Harrison, Freeney, etc years.

We decided to plan a nice trip for just the two of us since we share similar tastes in what makes for a good time. Plus we have good jobs and figured we needed to "treat yo self".

I think Canada will get it done, I'm just not sure exactly how long it will take to implement his system there. He's had great success everywhere else though. I think it was a great hire even if it doesnt really get rolling for another year.

Every fan base believes their team has a chance in every game and that year we got off to a decent start going into that game. However, I don't know if there were any of us who actually thought the game was gonna be that close for 3.5 quarters. Our guys definitely played up to the competition that day, but we had no answer for LF. He was simply unstoppable.
Haha! Thanks for the heads up! I gave him an upvote thinking he was being helpful.
We're sitting in 423 row 34. Best seats we could get that weren't really high up and not like 200-300 bucks (around $150). The view looked good on the seat view site.

I do recall hearing about that kind of stuff when your fans visited a couple years ago. lol

Your fans and Clemson fans have brought the biggest road fan groups to the Dome in a long time. I believe I heard there were between 5-7k LSU fans there, which is super impressive.
Appreciate it. Seems like we should mostly expect a welcoming experience.

LSU is actually the team I like/follow most in the SEC. Also a fan of coach O. who happened to be an assistant at Cuse back in the day during some of our glory years. Glad he's getting another shot to be the head guy. He's got great coordinators, thats for sure.

Screw Bama! :yack:

You guys will definitely be one of the top 3 defenses we face (possibly the best one). I have a lot of respect for Aranda. That dude is a phenomenal defensive coach. He'll be a head coach sooner rather than later.

It will be interesting to see how Canada does with the offense. It doesn't look like you guys have the QB situation settled yet, but I expect much better passing from whoever ends up starting as Canada is a great offensive mind and will utilize his players strengths.

His playcalling put up 76 points on us last year in the no-defense game of the year (Our backup walk-on QB who started against you guys in the Dome broke the school record for TDs in a game). Pitt does not have the athletes that you guys have. Your offense could be scary good for the next couple years.

Canada is also an experienced QB coach and takes it upon himself to coach the QBs in his system. I'm more optimistic about the LSU offense than a lot of the posters on this board seem to be. We'll see how it all plays out.

Watching LF in the Dome a couple years ago was incredible. I've never witnessed such a dominant performance in my lifetime. He single-handedly won that game. We stacked the box all game and couldnt even slow him down. I'm hoping Guice isn't breaking records against us. lol
ah ok. Will avoid those people.
What does it all mean!? Why is this a thing?
Great responses!

We're definitely not shy. haha

Just testing the waters and possibly meeting some cool people on here that we can plan to meet up with as there will be so many people and so much going on.

The hotel looks pretty sweet online.

Guice will certainly be a load. I'm just hoping we can contain him at all. We should be able to put up some points, but unless our defense did a complete 180, we're counting on trying to outscore you guys and that starts with stopping the running game. Our offense is so fast that the opponent gets extra possessions, which really exposes the defense.

You are correct about our OL concerns. We're not exactly sure what to expect from this group, but they have more experience overall than last year.

I forgot to mention we lost our number 3 WR and kick return phenom Brisley Estime to Graduation/NFL as well. He was a guy that could stretch the defense vertically. We believe we have some good young talent to takeover at WR though and Babers and his staff are great developers at that position.

Babers seems to be the guy that can finally get us back to being competitive and back into bowl games again. It's an uphill battle in our division and our schedule this year is just brutal. This will be year 2 in the new systems on both sides of the ball. A lot of guys that will be starting were recruited for completely different styles, so we won't see Babers full vision for a couple more years most likely.
Really appreciate this info. We're both musicians and love to enjoy some live music with a couple cocktails. One of my favorite bands is Galactic with their funk/jazz/jam fusion.

I've always wanted to visit Preservation Hall as well.
Thanks! Can't wait for the fun!
Yeah, there are tons of Cuse fans/alums in the DC metro area. I actually work with former Cuse DB Kevyn Scott.

There are a lot of game viewing parties in DC as well.

I make it to more road games than home games due to location/logistics. Try to make 1 home game a year. Will have to see if I can swing it this year since I'm spending so much for this game, but I have family and friends I can crash with in Cuse.

My email - dmordue17@gmail.com

Keep in touch. Always love meeting members of the Cuse fam.
Really hoping to avoid the piss balloons...

Hope to see you there and share a drink or two!

I'm hoping to be wearing flip-lops for most of this trip! haha!

It seems like a really cool area to walk around. Mom and I like to get a little tipsy and check out some music, which the city is legendary for. We anticipate great times to be had.
Thanks for the heads up! We splurged a little for the hotel since it's our first trip to New Orleans. We wanted a hotel with a little character and a room with a balcony. Also wanted the full French Quarter/New Orleans experience.
I'm all about having a good time and talking a little trash. It's all in good fun. We've always opened our Cuse crew tailgates to visiting fans. Shared some of our cuisine with them and had some spirited games of beer pong and cornhole.

This will be a difficult game for our crew to set up at because we don't have many locals to setup base, so I'm expecting something small which is why I want to find some fun folks that don't mind hosting a couple Cuse diehards.

Those of us that are making the trip are so excited to experience the gameday atmosphere at such a legendary venue.

I've heard of a couple spots, but not from locals.

I've also heard it can be dangerous around there. How valid are those concerns?

I'm really looking forward to visiting Preservation Hall for some groovy tunes.

It's not exactly a planned night game. We've just heard whispers to expect a night game which would be great for tailgating. I'm just hoping I'm still upright at game time. haha
