re: Asthma

I have a pre employment physical with another plant, I passed my respirator fit test and Pulmonary functiom test at the plant I'm currently at. I'm just worried the plant I'm transitioning to may have different requirements. Thanks for answering btw. Also for whathe is worth I'm an operator.

Asthma

Can having asthma make me fail a pre-employment physical even if it is under contro?
I haven't jumped ship I'm at Shintech. I'm in the interview process with two other plants.
I didn't want to start a new thread for a simple question.
If you guys had a choice between oxychem in Geismar and Eastman chemical in st Gabriel which would you pick?
I'm definitely not complaining I do how fortunate I am to land one of these jobs.
I live in Baton Rouge on Nicholson. I commute to plaquemine for work. The commute back to BR is brutal anytime after 4pm. I guess I just have the grass is greener syndrome.
Actually I have an interview coming up with pbf energy in chalmette. I just figured since Oxy is sooner I'd start preparing for the interview. It's probably a mixture of technical and behavioral questions.
Geismar is where the highest paying plants are and I don't like crossing the bridge. Also they have better top out pay and bonuses. I just want to know how is oxychems interview process? Is it technical or behavioral/situational? And if you're interested I can let you know about the Shintech interview process
Bumping this thread. I got the job but now I'm looking to get on with a plant I could spend a career at. I have an interview with oxychem in Geismar, does anyone know if it's situational and technical question or both? Also I'm assuming it's a panel interview. Thanks guys
Safety, teamwork, and willingness to learn the job are my main takeaways from this thread. The advice is greatly appreciated, I will update yall after I have my interview.
Ok I will read up on distillation
From your past experiences what are some things that made candidates stand out in interviews?
Vjp819 what questions aren't they allowed to ask? I don't want to put my foot in my mouth.
That's great info. Basically I will stress safety and that I am a go getter and a loyal employee.
I applied for the job online and got a call to interview. So it's a behavioral and situational interview and not a technical interview.
Thanks a lot man. Btw are you an operator?
Thank you. Is it known as a bad plant to work for?
No I'm just looking for general advice about the interview process.
Do you work at shintech? Thanks for the response

Shintech process operator interview

Hi I'm new to the OT but it seems to be popular with operators. I have an interview with Shintech plaquemine this week and Im wondering does anyone know what type of questions they will ask? Is it very technical or is it more behavioral and situational?

Thank you
