re: Early retirement and Obamacare
Posted by smallmouth on 7/15/26 at 1:54 pm to cgrand
I turn 55 in November. Im done then.
I had no idea about not having to pay the taxes on ltcg and the insurance deal until now.
Its a no brainer for me at this point.

I am contimplating retiring at 55 next year.
I just talked to a BCBS rep.
I can get the same coverage as I do at work now for 75 bucks a month.
6k total out of pocket.
I just have to keep my Dividends Interest and LTCG under 40k.
I would not have to pay any taxes on the ltcg either.
This is a gamechanger in my plan. Makes it much easier to accomplish what I want to do.

If I am seeing this correct. In Arkansas
At age 55
If I retire and live off or 40k MAGI. Inclusds LTCGs, Interest, Dividends only,
I can get coverage 6k Deductable, 6k Total out of pocket for 130 a month range for singel person. Gold Octave plan. Does that sound correct or am I missing somehting here?
Net worth does not matter?

64 Arkansas team allowed less than six points per game and had 5 consecutive shutouts against conference teams.
11-0

Like poster said there have been a few troubling signs this year. Just how bad Aubbie whipped us and loosing to Missou. But we absolutely dominated Fl and State and Ole Miss for that matter. Just a weird year. CBB isn't going anywhere.

Terrrible where Arkansas has been . Just havent been able to make that right hire since Nolan. Not sure if Anderson can get it done in today CBB environment. Arkansas should be a consistant top ten team. Havent been able to keep the best talent home in a long time. That is starting to change as Anderson seems to have a firm grip in what is shaping up to be the best 3-4 year run in talent this state has ever seen. Will be interesting to watch.
Chances Les is hired as color guy or studio analysis?

Austin Allen has had more clear shots at him through three games this year than his brother did the last two years combines. I have watched every play of every game and this Oline is struggling in spots. Skipper is playing All SEc type LT right now. Ragnow is a beast and Froholdt is coming along. Raulerson is solid but we have been getting killed on the right side and the backs are not blocking like Collins did. Trust me I know what I am talking about.

Our O line isn't near as heavy or good as it was last year at this time and neither is the running game. Have great QB play considering we just lost a 3-4 yr starter. Our WR corp is as good as any if you look at production and not stars. Don't drop many.
D is better than last year with our front being our strength. Good solid football team with the O Line being the consensus troubled spot.

Well, this sure didn't go as planned. Thought we might get some thoughts on this other than the childish babble above.
re: What's with the Arkansas love?
Posted by smallmouth on 9/19/16 at 1:01 pm to RB10
Need to hold off on the love until Sunday. We win this weekend we will be 5-0 with Bama coming to town. Most likely top ten. Then we can talk Hogs. We have to win this weekend to take the next step. May be the biggest game of CBB career at Arkansas. Win this one and take off.

Is the looser out for sure? WInner has a chance to make a run keep their job while looser is pretty much gone for sure? Sure seems it to me.
re: How credible are the "Petrino to Auburn" rumors?
Posted by smallmouth on 9/19/16 at 12:23 pm to DuncanIdaho
Not like Petrino was a cracked out junky. He was cheating on his wife. Got caught lied about it and it cost him dearly. Same story could be told of many a men. SOme learn from it and become better people. Who knows.
I know he don't bolt on ATL if Vick is railed. And the whole Petrino play book can be opened up with a QB like he has now or a M Vick. He never had that option at Ark. The NFL was about to be screwed until Vick got canned.

Some Arky fan needs to post a pic of Broyles 64 staff. Joe Gibbs, Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson, and a couple of more big names what went on. Jerry Jones and Ken Hatfield and Bobby Crockett played on that team. hellova team pic.

I have a feeling that if Vandy is the last game in WM that the place will be packed just for no other reason than its the last game down there. I have had many many good days down there on that golf course before games, twice as fun as Fayetteville. I will go just because its the end and it was a fun ride in the ol dump.
