This is a bit off topic, but I saw your thread from a few years back about the origins of the Sazerac. Your Mom almost had it correct. Alphonse Perret was the head bartender at the Sazerac bar in the Roosevelt Hotel in NOLA. And the Perret's are not distant cousins to Lincoln, but are to his wife.
