Point well taken! Thanks
Growing up I always asked my mom for a sammich. Had the idea for a restaurant and googled the word. Urban dictionary popped up and when I read the definition...
Thanks for the support and YES!!! Chicken Livers will return after Easter!
I wish it were that easy! Read Yelp's disclaimers and then go to The Sammich New Orleans...read the review by Joseph M. He's never been here and I can't do anything about his review.
My clique is the people that walk in. If you have a problem, let me know. Either I fix it while you're here or we shake hands and at least respect each other. I REFUSE to fix an issue that I find out about on Yelp!
Yep, an idiot, moron, and just a plain dumb arse some times! Just ask my wife...and sometimes, I enjoy stirring the pot! Just read my Yelp.

WOW!!!! I didn't realize this would be such a hot topic and I believe I now need to respond and explain my words on Yelp.

I do not have an ax to grind with niknik. I simply can't stand Yelp and the public forum it has become. As a business owner, I get calls from Yelp advertising weekly and I choose to not be extorted by them. They claim to NOT manipulate reviews but if one pays close attention, there are 5 reviews that are NOT recommended (all of which are good reviews by mostly reputable Yelpers) and somehow, the 1 star reviews with no face are prominently posted.

Niknik, by your review, I was evidently serving you when you were here. I wish you would have brought the damages done to your tights to my attention. I certainly would have found some way to take care of that issue for you. We strive to make our guests happy while they are in our care but when one takes to Yelp, after the fact, there's not much I can do. Your Yelp page clearly states that you do not want to be contacted by business owners. Maybe you're not aware of that. I'm trying to post a screen shot for you but it's not showing up.

I certainly don't want to drive business away but I also want to bring some levity to the "bad" reviews on Yelp. I can't make customers read the entire menu. That's up to them. When the menu says something has honey, one would expect that to be sweetish. Overly sweet??? Let me know and I can fix it! Lines at the counter??? Every poboy shop has that. We don't do table service so I can't fix that. I know Kevin at The Milk Bar and I'm a huge fan. He does some great things and I eat there quite often, I also eat at Jimmy John's and Subway. They both do great jobs! We aren't that kind of place and it's irritating to be compared. Sorta like comparing the Saints and the Pelicans, they're both sports teams but that's as far as it goes.

Bottom line is Yelp is an extortion ring, and I'm not the only owner that feels that way. Google "Billion Dollar Bully" and you'll see what I mean. To me, bad Yelp reviews give me a chance to rant about customers that don't have the stones to just simply say, "I didn't really enjoy my meal." to my face. I WANT REPEAT CUSTOMERS and will actually bend over backwards to retain someone's business or, at the very least, get them to try us again. The only exception to that is when is when the customer takes to Yelp. Then...keep reading Yelp. One way or another, to my credit or my demise, you'll get a chuckle.

I've enjoyed the reading and actually, niknik, I'll be addressing the tables shortly.

Thank you all!
