The latest anti-smoking ad from the CDC (2010)could very well be an indication that the exodus was justified. The ad accuses smokers of murdering a man. It begins with the title "A message to smokers about second hand smoke" and ends with the statement "Second hand smoke killed Nathan. QUIT NOW."

The anti-smokers' frequent fallback argument, that "smoking costs society money" isn't even true. As the New England Journal of Medicine put it
"...in a population in which no one smoked the costs would be 7% higher among men and 4% higher among women than the costs in the current mixed popul...

I know how much you love funerals in New Orleans. If everybody trying to stop smoking used Chantix you would be having a ball 365 days a year.

I just saw the tail end of a Chantix advertisement on NFL Network. Don't know if they took out the barbecue scene or not.

Sorry. They don't still give a dollar amount but they are willing to pay for most of it. How much does that cost to all British Columbian taxpayers each year? Or do they break even with their astronomical taxes on tobacco sales?

This link is to British Columbia's program. They recommend Champix and Zyban and will pay for most of your treatment therapy. They don't cite a specific dollar amount.

440 thousand according to whose statistics? Do you know anything about how those numbers are arrived at? Neither does the CDC? It has been hovering around that number for the past ten years. I thought smoking rates have gone down. So how come lung cancer rates have gone up at the same time? Well, go...
