Yes, agreed. That’s why I am trying to find the full piece online… but unsuccessful finding it.
I won’t preempt outrage, but absolutely will, if admin allows rando trans women to room with random matched freshmen women inside of non-coed (women only) dorms.

The gist of it was that the dorm application process would allow the trans to be ROOMMATES with incoming frosh females, not simply within the same coed dorm.
This *could* have been a twist to the narrative, but the prospect still worries us

Laura Ingraham Fox Piece - LSU proposal to consider trans women (bio men) in freshman dorm
Posted by LSUnivFan on 4/11/24 at 7:42 pm
I flipped halfway thru her segment and didn’t catch it all, and searched history.
The proposal considered by LSU admin, presented by a current student, would allow biological men to reside in freshman women’s’ dorms.
Did anyone catch this? Or is flying under the radar, as they hope it would?
Context: my daughter (17, Junior HS NO PICS) wants her higher education to be at LSU, and her Mom and me - both alums - have significant problems with this.

Absolutely cannot. Every other word is Err/Uh/Umm. KJB not much better with the Akshuallies.
I second Circa. The pool is awesome, and the sports book is a massive theater style watching event. Dozens of imax size screens to watch, but limited audio.
The pool might cost entry of $60(?) unless you get a comp from table or slot play.

That was one of the most epic off-the-cuff interviews I’ve ever seen. James Woods GOAT.
Bella Vista checking in too - good to see fellow Tigers in this small town!

Wouldn’t it be “WE WERE kinda take it or leave it”?
First thought was Lebrandon Toefield - Independance? Maybe not, I’m old…
My father passed away 4 years ago. He filed taxes religiously and accurately, and was never audited.
My mother who is now 76 y/o has been waiting on a tax refund from 2018 in the approximate amount of 10k for these last 4 years. She has called numerous times, and been kept on hold for Hours and Hours to no avail.
So tell me, how many of those 87,000 motherfrickers are going to be able to answer the bell when my mother calls next?
Or, will they just show up at her door with ‘leathal intent’ weapons screaming STASI STASI mfer!

That is the filthiest line I have ever seen.
I sincerely feel bad for the kid, and I hope he completes the full recovery.

I hate that this post slipped so far down, apologies… I saw it earlier.
The place you have mapped isnt the *best* spot to launch, simply because of the tides. It may be too shallow to paddle.
Instead, in the lower right of your map, there is a spot where you CAN drive up and park right next to GISP, and while it may be a bit longer of a paddle, you can get to a better spot.
Jolly Roger, where it makes a 90 degree by the water tower, has a spot to park and a wade-in to launch. I’m too old and dumb to post pics, but the spot is just below and beyond to the right of your image.
Then, paddle out NNW until you get to the breakwater… there’s some fish in there *inside* the jetties, but beyond the jetties is a dredged hole, about 7-8ft deep, that holds drum and trout. (And a shît ton of gafftop, if you bottom fish)
Hope this helps, and happy fishing!

IIRC, wasn’t this a plot device in one of Tom Clancy books? ‘The Bear and the Dragon’??
Idea! Let’s stop the clock on March 14, and allow Hiyoka fall into the role of POTUS!
Sorry/not sorry for the spoilers.

Frank Gallagher would like a word.
that’s a fair point Bayou... if the GC wants to replace ALL the substructure in the joists/beams/headers (all 12 by) then that would roll up the costs quick... But I still can’t see 26k.
Unless it was in Trex, with terracing and tiki hut and built in hot tub and anything else one can imagine. That’s over $50.00 per square foot on the build. This house can have a 3rd story tacked on to it - including plumbing and elec - for that price per sqft.

Is this contractor on crack?

TLDR - $26k estimate for a 500 square foot deck, stairs, and railings.
So, over the past 7/8 years, I've been helping a buddy that owns a canal home on Galveston with rebuild work both inside and out. Over this time, it's been nearly a 100% overhaul, with us doing most of the work ourselves.
The top deck has been put off until last, and it is now well beyond its last leg. We're getting a bit older, and PROBABLY don't want to do this one last project. He texted me this am and asked about material cost to replace the decking, stairs, and railings - the dimensions are approximately 25' wide and 20' deep, extending over the canal and boat lift; all approx 10' above the slab / lower deck.
I did some quick calculations, and I came up with ~2k for material only (pine all around). He went the contractor route, got an estimate for 26k and was shocked. Hell, we built his entire same sqft lower deck where there was none before, and then rebuilt the boat dock and extended the surrounds (new joists / headers for all) for a total of $1500 in the past couple years.
Does anyone do this professionally? Is this contractor on crack? I can see 10k for a basic deck/stairs/rails by a pro... but 26k?? For a weekend's worth of work and 2k of materials?
Screw learning to code - I need to build decks.

Tempting, thanks! However, I'll have 3 people in tow who are all native SoCal who want to witness the 'bat-shite-insanity' that goes along with being an LSU fan.
(one guys' words, but at least partially true, amirite?)
It'll be hard to match a Big Woodrow's environment in Houston, or the old Ben's Half Yard in Dallas, but that's the kind of environment I'm looking for. I'd like to be able to scream in full voice,"RUN MOTHERfrickER RUN" at the TV and not get looked at like I just upperdecked a toilet at their gramma's house.

No responses in 8 hours? On tRant??? :wha:
I'll be in LA as well. More specifically Anaheim/ OC. Anybody got a gathering place? Surely in a metro area of 13 million people, one must exist.
The "Where to watch around the world" thread says Mr. Pockets on Sepulveda south of LAX, but last updated maybe 5 years ago.
Anyone?

Seems like it would be a fair, need-based trade. Don't know exactly why it would be vetoed.
