You might argue that Barber is more technically proficient (you'd be wrong, but you could argue it), but his sound is inherently inferior. It's not something you can quantify really, Trey just plays his guitar better. The sounds that come out are superior. It's got personality. You can pick out a Trey guitar lick no problem. Barber...eh not so sure it'd be as easy to. His tone is pretty standard. Generic.

Trey's got soul coming through his fingers. Baber just sort of repeats riffs over and over again, then the jam peaks and he just sort of plays that same riff faster, and then that's it. The interesting stuff, not the ragers, the slower type II spur of the moment, need real inspiration to come up with interesting music sort of stuff is no contest. Barber is no where near as inventive.

Barber is a fine guitar player, but he just doesn't have the tone Trey does. Trey ain't what he used to be, but if we're comparing whole careers, peak guitar abilities to peak guitar abilities, Trey pretty much destroys Barber. No contest.

BV and Burt just straight up don't like Phish. Not too sure about you either Spauld.

Capt and heady are too far on the Phish side. Andre seems to genuinely like both of them.

Whatever, we'll figure it out. I've just decided if I'm picking sides give me Phish all day everyday.
