re: The Miles Conundrum

we could be in luck.
Miles is one of the top 10 for the Michigan job with his age (61) cited as the major drawback.
I thought 60 was the new 40?

Taking the snap from center does not make one a QB. No offense to Jennings and Harris, but neither is a real QB. Neither one can throw actually a crossing pattern and hit the receiver in stride. If you aren't a passing QB by the time you get to college, its too late to learn.
Great analysis.... LSU is an elite team outside the western conference but is last in conference (Ark beat our arse so we have to be worse than them)
ARK has great run defense
While LSU can run, as we did against ALA, probably can't run into the end zone, as we didn't against ALA.
Another low scoring game
LSU 10 ARK 7
If you thought you could get a reasoned response by questioning if there is a problem at QB or with the head coach, as you can see from the responses not likely. The "fans" on this board are content with LSU football where it is and see no reason or desire to improve. I cannot blame Jennings or Harris for any of the problems with the offense. They are running backs and simply taking the snap from center does not make them a QB. The QB problem, and thus the failures of the offense, are due to Miles refusal to recruit real QB's who can throw. What you will hear in response to this is "what about Mettenberger". Yeah, Mettenberger was great when Miles finally cut him lose. The problem is, there is no Mettenberger on LSU's bench. As a result, no QB now and no QB in the wings for next year.
Let's see if I can bring this down to your level. It's not about Saban. It's not about being in the top 5 or 10. It's about being content to stay there. While you and Les may be content being in the top 10 most of the time, I am not content unless LSU wins the national championship.

Not mad, just disappointed. LSU deserves better than what Les has brought to the table and is serving up to the fans this year. I will be surprised if we win another game this year.

If the defense can score we have a chance, but with no offense we will be lucky to win another game this year.
big 10 football at lsu

Miles has helped prove why the once powerful Big 10 is no longer in the same league as the SEC. Smash mouth football where the QB is nothing more than another running back will not win games, conference titles or national championships. I and other LSU fans should hope that Miles finally takes the Michigan job at the end of this season. LSU was the premier football program in the SEC and the country when Saban left. Miles has been content to LSU in the top 5 or 10, but unlike Saban and Alabama, we do not compete for the national championship each year and won't so long as Miles and his outdated Big 10 philosophy is in control.
