FSU getting straight up jobbed not once but twice so that Miami could stay undefeated was about the worst instance possible, The phantom holding call was comical, only to be followed up with a review of what I thought was a clear TD catch with the ball wrestled away after they were all on the ground.

A few thoughts now that we are paying players openly.
1. Are we also fining players for mental errors (jumping offsides, personal fouls, loafing (this alone might solve our funding problems) making bonehead reads, etc) like the NFL teams do?
2. Are we still enforcing the charade that these are student athletes who need to go to class? Seems that cuts into their earning potential and isn’t necessary.
3. Can we make trade deals with other teams? We might as well trade Russell since we aren’t going to play him.

I’d like to see an analysis comparing NIL spend to performance. I suspect that correlates more than any other factor including new coaching hires.
Not saying coaching doesn’t matter…but just as Memphis coaches have landed with a thud after moving to jobs where their NiL advantage was reduced…I think you would find the same thing universally.

I tried to have hope. We actually have probably “improved” a bit from the North Alabama debacle, but I think this is probably the worst SEC team in my lifetime.
I know Chadilac fielded some competitors, Vandy had a few….but given the body of work over the last few years and now this.

Those of us that supported them for years (we used to buy 17 tickets to all home games…dropped them all during the Chad Morris fiasco and never looked back) wouldn’t go up there if they paid us.
They don’t compete. Haven’t in years. If I read “we are a better team than what we put on tape” one more time I’ll scream.

He may well have been our best option. How sad is that?
He can’t hire a decent assistant coach, has serious trouble recruiting and the SEC office hates him enough that the refs are most certainly hunting calls against him.

We’re not a basketball school but…
We have a hall of fame basketball coach
We are a top five NIL spender in basketball
We expect to be and are ranked in the top 20 every year
And in football….we’ve pretty much sucked for all but a couple,e of the last 25 years….and are in fact usually irrelevant,
The string of coaches we’ve had for that 25 year period is awful….only headlined by Bobby Petrino who most anywhere else consider a one trick pony pariah.
Our NIL spend on football is at an all time record for us….and still dead last or second to it in the SEC.
But,,,,we’re a football school.
