re: Bone marrow transplant w/chemo - anyone ever done this or know anyone who has?
Posted by Noonie Bird on 11/3/21 at 2:29 pm to Horsemeat
My dad did at MD Anderson about 15 years ago. Did the sterile room for a month. He had a few hiccups but overall was a great success. Medicine has changed a lot since then. Ended up succumbing to cancer a few years ago - unrelated to the bone marrow transplant and the associated disease.
re: At full strength who was more powerful in ww2 Germany or US?

Full strength hypothetically? Or full strength actually?
Hypothetically, on paper, U.S. by a million (resources, population, geographic location)
Reality, it is Germany by a million. Dudes were unstoppable. Conquering the world is unsustainable.

I am a U.S. and U.K. citizen. UK by birth via my Dad doing O&G there for so long that he became the equivalent to a permanent resident. Pending my Mexican "green card" via my husband
Husband is Mexican and U.S. permanent resident and German citizen.
We like to have options - for jobs, apocalypse, etc
International couple

re: To fight or not to fight: Treatment w/ lower quality or none w/ shorter life

Palliative care can be combined with the harsher treatments. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment (chemo, radiation, etc). Just cost more $$$
So she is fighting comfortably...

I wouldn't quit being a lawyer, but I definitely would like to move in-house somewhere. Better hours, quality of life.
