Hi all,

Okay it took me a while to get back to you with some feedback and pics. First off all, here are some pics from my LSU experience:
LINK

Some thoughts:
Walk-ons for lunch was a bad idea, lol. It was like a 3 hours wait so we got lunch elsewhere. Must be a good place!
I don't think I've ever seen so much purple and yellow in a single day.
I got two tickets from "Houston Texas Tiger" and as you can see in the pics, it was really close to the action. I think we got the crappy cheerleaders on our side though =p
Everyone left at half-time  But I can certainly see why, the last quarter wasn't very exciting.
How do you get those comfy seats with back support? =p
It is hot in Louisiana...
You need more buses because the traffic was crazy, lol. We showed up quite early, paid for parking and then walked for 15 mins which worked out really well.
Why were some ppl dressed in khakis and white shirts? It looked like frat-guys?
Where can you find the official attendance at the game?

Big thanks to everyone for the advice and thanks again "Houston Texas Tiger" for the tickets!

That's some southern hospitality for you right there. I really appreciate it. Are they regular tickets or e-tickets? We could discuss details on email or something?

I will post some pics and thoughts after the visit for sure!

Wow those seats are great! Mine are in the middle of the upper east section. Wanna switch tickets or something?

Tiger fans are so friendly :geauxtigers:

That's a cool guide with lots of specifics, thanks! I already got us two tickets for $25 each on the upper deck. Maybe I'll be able to trade them for the lower deck with some foreign charm ;)

Okay I see what you're saying. Might be a good idea to go to Baton Rouge in the morning and see the city and then take the bus to the stadium. It all sounds like an intense experience. I mean, who has a real tiger as a mascot? =p I'm glad I came up with this idea. Originally I was looking for NFL tickets but all the teams from the cities we are visiting had away games scheduled when we're supposed to be there.

Btw, how's the opponent Sam Houston? No special rivalry? Should it be "an easy win"?

These are all some great suggestions =) I don't know if we'll spend the entire day at LSU since we have a limited amount of time in New Orleans. Is it impossible to get a parking space if we show up a couple of hours before the game. It sounds nice to see the band and the team walk down the hill and enjoy some nice tailgating before the game. I just got two tickets from StubHub at $25 each, not bad!
@toughcrittercrumb - We're both from Sweden. I was a foreign exchange student for a year a while back ago so I'm familiar to football traditions but my girlfriend probably doesn't what she's getting herself into (I probably don't either lol).

Tigers vs Sam Houston

Hi all

Me and my girlfriend are going to the USA for a four week road trip which will end in New Orleans in the beginning of September. I thought it would be a great idea to finish off our trip by going to the Tigers game on the 6th vs Sam Houston. I've heard that it's quite an experience but I don't know anything about the campus or the Tiger traditions. So I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to do and see before (and of course during) the game. Are there any traditions that we need to experience and so on? I do have a rental car but how long does it take to go to Baton Rogue and the stadium? Will the traffic be crazy? Where is a good place to park? How much does it cost? We don't want to spend our entire day there but perhaps a couple of hours before the game to get into the right mood. Also, from what I understand I need to buy tickets from sites like StubHub or TicketCity? Are e-tickets available? Do I need to watch out for anything in particular (student tickets/...)? Where is a good place to sit, or rather where is a bad place to sit? This particular game against Sam Houston seems to be sort of a practice game to get the team going (?), will it be sold out anyway? I realize that there are alot of questions here but I appreciate answers to any of them.

Thanks,
John
