re: Does anyone actually "love" Baton Rouge?

What I've noticed after living in the area for 29 years:
EBR, AP, and LP are pretty much all the same when it comes to attitude. No body seems happy. People are rude. You catch eyes with people in the store and try to nod to them or give a smile and they turn their head immediately. Very very rude people in this part of the country.
I worked in Houston for a year and I swear to you I thought all the women I came into contact with were flirting with me. Its sad when kindness is so scarce that it is mistaken for flirting. I was the odd one out. I was the a-hole from Baton Rouge. It took me some time to realize that if you can't pick out the a-hole in the room then it's probably you. Now that I'm back here it seems even more amplified and I can't believe I normalized it for so long.
Moral of story is: people are mean in Baton Rouge and its surrounding parishes. It's like NYC down here, just slower. Mean and slow. Oh well... :geauxtigers:
