Have to give Sheridan his props. ESPN must be pissed. They were totally shut out of this and look like clowns. As well written as this essay was, this decision has been made awhile. And Broussard on this morning talking about a letter from four years ago. :lol:

@ryenarussillo: I'm not saying LeBron IS the bad guy. Just saying can't use the letter as the reason this late in the game.

Lebron may have not said a thing but his people have let this get out of control. All it would have taken would have been a text to Broussard to slow it down or that Cleveland was a longshot possibility, or that the Heat were still the favorite.

I don't buy the letter the suddenly became an issue this morning. If it was, I don't think this thing would have gotten this far. I think Lebron's camp leaked the letter for one of these reasons:
1. They see an opportunity to get Melo in Miami. The letter will be the 24 hr news cycle story today buying more time and forcing Bosh's hand
2. He had intended to sign with the Cavs but because of Wade, Riley, or whatever he's had a change of heart. Lebron's camp knows he will be crucified for seeming to lead Cleveland on so they leak the letter as an "out". The liberal media runs with it as of course, no way he could go back to Cleveland with Gilbert and the letter.
3. He still intends to sign with the Cavs and the letter leak is more PR. Makes Lebron seem like the bigger man and more of a hero when he does eventually sign with the Cavs.

I'm starting to think there may be something to the Lebron/Melo thing. This thing doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. Bosh has to decide by Sunday, and no way he can leave the Houston deal on the table. Carmelo then slides down to Miami. I mean what else could Melo be waiting for except the chance this happens.
And why is the letter all of a sudden an issue this morning?
If you are Gilbert, why not just go ahead and issue a press release apologizing? Put all the pressure on Lebron
@Probballdraft: Cavs not eliminated but whatever the purpose of leaking that makes it seem like LeBron is looking for way out of committing to the Cavs.

I don't think it gets announced while the camp is going on. I don't think Lebron wants to disrupt. I think the news breaks right before he gets on the plane to Brazil
