Does anyone know if you can actually camp inside Greenbrier, or are y'all referring to Greenbrier Island campground...Or are they the same thing?? TIA :cheers:

that's insane! :lol: we'll be headed there in 8 days so I don't think well have to worry about snow. As for Gatlinburg, the cabin has already been booked so I guess we'll have to make the best of it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. So many great places to choose from. Seems like Cade's Cove or Mt Leconte would be our best bet. Whichever campground is in close proximity to a multitude of day hikes would be ideal.

Smoky Mountain Trail suggestions

Planning a trip to the Smokies with some friends soon and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions, as I have never been to the park myself. Our plan is to camp in the eastern-most side of the park (Cataloochee) and work our way back west, ending with a couple nights in Gatlinburg.

Any suggestions (day hikes, points of interest, etc) would be greatly appreciated! TIA :cheers:
