I thought with my IT background it would be a plus to get in, but it's looking like a change of careers.

I have heard of Rigzone, and a number of other websites but without experience I'm getting "crickets". It seems one has to know someone in the field to get them started, so any advice on how to get in would be greatly appreciated....
