If I was making a point, it would be that you were grossly wrong after months of calling others idiots for not accepting your argument as omniscient. Now you look like the idiot and the board has full rights to plaster your support and dispersion of patently false facts all over the place as a response, regardless of the future arguments you make. Blaming being wrong on anyone other than yourself (especially since you regard yourself as some sort of pseudo expert speaking from a higher place) is a cowardly cop out.
I'm awaiting your response asking me for links to posts that support the generation of my above stated "point."

Thoth is a flaming pile of garbage which has no decorum, membership, or aesthetic standards and recycles floats like no other. Every year by the time Thoth roles, I've seen its floats 3 times.
And they hold their ball at the pontchartrain center
And one final note: Thoth even reuses costumes from other krewes who've already rolled which is nasty. It's the catch all Krewe

So 38 million in oysters outweighs the billions in increased flooding from wetland losses that will continue to occur if nothing is done...sounds like a bad trade off.
Also , Mother Nature will make the call to the oysterman in the next several decades when all the current marsh around their grounds is gone. Seems like a false assumption that their ground won't go the same route as the rest of the coast on the current trajectory.

Well, if they haven't paid their taxes like the rest of us, that sounds like less of an incentive to care/work to figure out what their business is worth for just compensation. In that case is say they've had their fun and if they can't show records of income that they think they deserve, tough shite. Same thing was happening during oil spill and many judges said no tax returns? No compensation.

I'm going to play devils advocate and come off like an a-hole, but...
Why are any fisherman owed the right to harvest from a certain location ( in this case shell beach)? Nowhere in America is anyone owed the right to work where they want. If I want to keep my job, I have to geographically follow the work or lose my job. Why are fisherman different?
Diversions will no doubt rearrange where things are harvested, but why can't fisherman follow the harvest? Besides the last few generations, that's how Louisiana seafood has been harvested for hundreds if not thousands of years: as the river shifted the landscape, the people shifted as well.

As I form my opinion, one thing I am looking to here about from the anti-st george side is, if this were a revenue neutral proposal for both sides and all debts were paid, what Are the talking points of the "better as one urban center" argument?
It doesn't seem like Metairie/Kenner/Orleans suffer from having various states of incorporation or lack thereof...how would it be different here? What would cause BR to somehow be seen as 2 separate urban areas by outside elements or businesses?
It seems to me that right now, people already ascociate outlying areas with BR. A person from Denham will tell a New Yorker they're from BR just as a person from Kenner would tell a New Yorker they're from NO. I don't see huge identity issue.

This is am interesting stat and I am glad you had me reread the article last night...but I am unsure if the wealthy are all that should be worried about here. Influx of wealthy means influx of those capable and predisposed to sending their kids to private school anyway. I think those making less than 100k/yr are a better indicator since they are more likely to depend on public schools

What if St. George proponents said OK BR, y'all get the mall of LA...would the proposal be acceptable? If those people found some sort of revenue neutral proposal for both sides what would the opinions be?

Can I deduce from that rant that all things held constant, the only thing keeping incorporated BR from becoming a "trailer park" right now is somehow the fact that St George doesn't exist as of yet? That tells me more money exits St George than enters and vice versa for incorporated BR.

I've been to the red camp 2 "doors" down to the southwest. It's the only island in that view. Was beautiful out there. I believe it's been largely abandoned (at least by the part owner I know).

For me newer buildings =\= better school system. I want to see 5-10 consecutive years of substantial gains in math, reading comprehension, and sciences. I want to see the average school rating of an A or B, not a C or D while maintaining the current system funding levels. I don't subscribe to the belief that dumping more money into schools is the universal answer. Hence, I am undecided. I want to see the anti at George crowd propose ways to raise the education level that don't include an utterance of "we need more money" or "your plan is flawed." If it's flawed or undeveloped, what's a better plan? Let's hear some policy ideas. As I've said, let the anti St. George crowd propose some positive course corrections rather than 100% focusing on flaws of what are undoubtedly an undeveloped St George proposal. I think it would diffuse the tension all around.

i live in the proposed area and am undecided.
the biggest things that upset me about the whole ordeal are:
A) you have a community crying out for better education and the leaders' response has basically been a collective "frick off" through their words an actions. The whole incorporation effort is like a teenager emotionally lashing out...the emotions are genuine, the methodology may not be the best conceived. The parish government, instead of being the bigger man/parent figure trying to truly address issues and throw the teenager a few bones to make it feel important, has instead chosen to scream back and lowered themselves potentially beyond that of the teenager.
B) the "better together" baton rouge crowd who would rather sink the entire titanic without letting any lifeboats (in the form of better education initiatives and alternatives) go and seek calmer waters screaming racism and income inequality all the way.
I suspect the trend outlined in the paper a few days ago will continue: more people leaving for several neighboring parishes than arriving from them. People have seen school system reforms work on a small scale in neighboring EBR parish entities, and on a larger scale down I-10 in NO through the charter revolution. No solution is perfect silver bullet, but simply seeing surrounding areas trying new things has rendered EBRs bullshite unacceptable.
I am about to have my first kid and if still living in BR in a few years either plan to move to one of the other neighboring school districts or take the private school path...not leaving my kids chances of getting into an acceptable school up to lotteries.

Lately I've had family members bombarded through social media and their friends selling Limu magical drink, Pampered Chef magical kitchen tools, and Nerium magical skin lotion.
It's ridiculous how many soccer moms and granny's get sucked into buying this stuff from people who I aggregate into the category of worthless salesman (car salesman, most realtors, primerica financial shite etc.)
