Got the idea years ago watching Madonna's music video for "Music". She gets driven around in a Limo by Sacha Baron Cohen in character as Ali G. At the end, when the music stops, they show him driving with a couple of strippers sitting next to him and he says "Has either of you 2 ever been to England? You want to see Tha Real Big Ben? Aeight, I will show you." I purposely misspell The as Tha so it's easier to get that username at any website I want.
I'm in the middle of a project replacing the plywood floor in my aluminum bass boat and also need to change out the flotation foam beneath the floor that's waterlogged. I've read on iBoats forums that a good easy fix for changing out the foam (without getting the pour-in stuff that may require extra knowledge to mix, etc.) is to go with the pink foam board found in hardware stores. This stuff is also "closed cell" so shouldn't soak up water it may come into contact with on occasion.

However, the problem is that I need the stuff to be 2" thick which seems to be impossible to find in any of the stores I've checked (Home Depot, Lowes, Stein, etc.) - they only have either 1/2" or 3/4" thick. Sure, I realize that I could just layer up the thinner stuff, but I've got to cut it into sections and I would rather just be able to go through one series of the cuts I need, not double, triple, or more. I could otherwise try to layer first, then cut all at once but would probably end up with non-uniform cuts in either situation....just seems like I should be able to find the 2" thick stuff and get this over with. Also, buying multiple thin layers might cost a bit more anyway.

I know Owens Corning makes it 2" thick because I see it on their website. I've already called them and they referred me to a local store who doesn't stock insulation but they're checking on special ordering for me. I just decided to go ahead and throw a Hail Mary on here too at the same time.

Geez, didn't realize it would be this hard to get the stuff.

I was trying to figure out the difference in construction grade and not construction grade plywood.

LOL, well maybe I used the wrong terminology there - I don't know if it's actually called CONSTRUCTION grade. I guess what I've seen others call it is EXTERIOR grade like for building construction, but not really the FINISH grade (?) like that last guy just said which would have the smooth side for painting like for soffets?

So 3/4"?

I'm going with 1/2" plywood - I think that's what was already in it and have read in other forums that it's sufficient? 3/4" would be adding even more weight, so there's also that to consider.

What kind of plywood are you using? I'd just order some 105 from amazon, I doubt you would need any thickening agent.

I bought construction grade pine from Lowe's yesterday for like $16 or $17/sheet. What is 105 plywood? I bet it's expensive right?
I'm just sealing the plywood for waterproofing prior to gluing carpet, then installing in the boat. I presume I should seal both sides of the plywood? You guys have experience with this?
Google says that place is permanently closed. I had actually already checked West Marine's website for a BR location and the closest was in Metairie. What's funny is that there's a review on the Google Maps page from 9 months ago made by a guy I work with - I'll also go ask him and then maybe try to call the phone number listed to be sure they're actually closed.

Thanks for the help!
Does anybody know where I can buy Marine grade Epoxy (for sealing wood prior to carpeting) in a local store? Lowe's and Home Depot seems to just have the stuff for sealing concrete and garage floors. If you want more details, read on.

I just started a do-it-yourself job of replacing the old rotten floor and the front deck in my old Bass Tracker. For my decking, the plan is to use construction grade plywood coated with epoxy, then lay the carpet over it. I've read on iBoats forums that this is the way to go.

I'm now trying to figure out where to buy the epoxy (marine grade preferably). I've read about a product called Gluvit that's supposed to be top-notch, but any marine grade epoxy that's suitable for my purposes would do I suppose. I would like to find it in a store in the Baton Rouge area if possible and avoid purchasing online for shipping because I'm ready to get this moving and don't want any delays.

Close, but he still wants the iron cross there like previously and one version where the skull is not visible in the cross, the other still visible.

He seems to like the second to last the best with the "spiky" font. He was wondering if you could move the t closer to the d, maybe over lap it a bit and also try a version without the skull shown in case the etcher can't do that detail. If you give your email, maybe we'll be able to show you results later on.

Ideas for insignia

Got a friend who makes knives out of railroad ties and is now getting some etching equipment for adding names, etc. He mentioned wanting to have a personalized insignia to put on all his knives, so I'm looking for some ideas. Another friend and I talked and were thinking maybe something with his initials (T.D.) and some graphic that has something to do with the railroad because that's his day job (and night too really). Anybody got some good simple ideas good for etching? Much gratitude in advance.

Looking for something to do with the fam...any ideas? Got a 3 yr old almost 4 and wife and baby in tow too.
Hah, good point Hubble...I was just about to point out that it wouldn't surprise many if George W's face had been put on toilet paper, which it probably had, and now we see that it has along with Palin and others and probably noone started pointing to racism in those cases. Why? Because white people don't get to play the race card since they haven't been the clear victims of racism historically - that is if you count out the present where we are still getting the race card played on us daily even though it's pretty much ancient history and a product of previous generations.

But of course on the other side of the fence, there are plenty of people quick to point to racism anytime a joke is made against Obama or even just expressing the opinion that you think he's a bad president or whatever. The fact of the matter here is that the vast majority of black people feel obligated to stand behind him regardless of his political views or how good of a job he's doing mainly because he's the first black president. Oh, and they feel like any white person who doesn't like him as a president only feels that way because they're racist and don't want a black man in the White House...please give me a break and open your eyes....you really thought George W was that bad? Obama takes the cake.

Hopefully if a black person reads this, I won't be accused of being racist - I'm not, although some after reading this would probably think I'm Klan or something like that.
Haha, awesome. Much gratitude. You actually took a better direction with it than I described. I like it. Thanks!
Okay, so maybe you can skip the buffing up part. But can someone maybe just add King Leonidas' head looking crazy with a bubble caption saying "Tonight we dine in hell!". Nothing too detailed, just trying to joke with my brother in law.
Maybe also buff him up a little more and have a caption saying something King Leonidas might say.
