I think the NIL era allows for having an X-and-O's guy. Players are making their choices based on money and opportunity(playing time.)

Mizzou's budget for coaches and NIL allows us to get enough talent to compete with anyone. We only need smart coaching to lean on our advantages and avoid opponents' advantages.

What I'm saying is the worst rebuild I could imagine, if the coach is competent, is 1 year where things slip through our fingers because of timing.

If our coaching search has already begun, and has solid targets, we could probably avoid most of the roster attrition that hits teams that have coaches leave.

I'd add that watching college fb used to involve seeing a player's progress over 4-5 years. That was a lot of the fun. 90% gone now.

But Drink also needs to fix telling his teams we win in the 4th quarter. Yes, you want to be strong in the 4th when in a close game. But you have to teach a team that they should take control before the 4th and make that mop-up time.
Needs to teach his teams to build a lead in the first half and then stifle any attempts by the opponent in the 3rd quarter.

I don't get this. It's entertainment. I used to love listening to Cards games and filling out a box score (one I sometimes made on my own with ruler and pencil.) I've watched Mizzou, Blues and Cards rebuilds where the team was terrible, but I enjoyed seeing the growth of players.
I may tune out announcers, but I watch every play to see who did their job and how well.

I'm sure stuff like this happens often, but not to this degree and not caught so clearly on camera. You have to punish this, or you show everyone that this is the new line.
Hell, something like that could do worse than end a football career. You could affect someone's ability to support weight, walk or run for the rest of their life.

We are going to break through. A lot of coaches who won championships started out making lots of mistakes.
