ESPN college football analyst Heather Dinich isn't buying the preseason hype surrounding Tennessee.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this week, Dinich questioned why the Volunteers were ranked No. 20 in the preseason AP Top 25, pointing specifically to the uncertainty at quarterback heading into the season.

"I can't believe Tennessee is even ranked," Dinich said. "Why is Tennessee ranked, let alone at No. 20?"

"They better find a quarterback and find some answers fast there. I have so many questions about them. Not to say they can't do it. Based on answers and not questions, I don't know why the Vols are in there."

Tennessee is coming off a 2025 season in which the Vols won four SEC games and enters 2026 with an ongoing quarterback battle between George MacIntyre and Faizon Brandon.

I can't believe someone actually pays Heather Dinich to talk about sports. Generally you have to have some clue about the subject matter, before you get paid to discuss it. She is clueless.

Since she’s generally an idiot, this actually gives me a lot of hope that we’re going to better than expected.

Not a Tennessee fan and don't agree or disagree with her statement, but Heather Dinich is incredibly retarded on the topic of CFB.
