FCS playoffs work just fine. You also have Pioneer League teams that have no shot in that.

It's ludicrous. Teams like Tulane and James Madison had no shot at getting past the first round unless their opponents had been stricken with dysentery. There's no value in 24 teams. Plus, you can bet that the team ranked 25th will cry that were left out. This is pissing contest between Petitti. The B12 and ACC are just hoping to get more teams in because neither has legitimate chance getting more than one team in a 12 team format. Hell, Miami barely made it as the ACC's sole participant last year. Wilbon speaks the truth.
