All that I can offer is that 30 minutes south of Breckinridge on CO-9 is the town of Fairplay.

In Fairplay, you'll find the Brown Burro Cafe, and it serves a fantastic breakfast (closed on Tuesdays).

Easy; if you’ve been to Vail try Breck. Close enough to take a day trip to Vail to revisit, but plenty to do in Breck. If skiing’s the overriding factor, Vail has an edge just in sheer size & variety, but for a few days Breck has plenty.
