MSY was fine Saturday am, and MIA was fine Tuesday pm. Precheck open both airports. But if United is warning about Newark, I would heed that warning.

Getting through security at ORD is not that bad. It's the delays that will get you.

The United terminal (Terminal C) had nightmare TSA lines even before the shutdown. I can't even imagine what it's like now.

Fly into/out of Newark, Ft Lauderdale, and MSY last week. One red eye, but the rest were prime time. No overly long lines, at most 20 minutes in Newark. I don’t get folks not getting their shite together before hitting the scanners. Inevitably there’s always the people who get up there and not have taken off he belt or left the cell phone in their pocket.

Just out of curiosity--were you in the United terminal--Terminal C? Or were you perhaps in Terminal A (American Airlines and others) or B? Terminal A lines are always short and quick, and C lines are crazy. I don't know why this is, except that the last time I was there Terminal C was being renovated and parts were closed off, funneling everyone to one TSA line. Maybe that's changed now, but this was fairly recently.

Me too, the problem is if you are flying into NYC, where do you go?

LGA is a fricking shite hole, and always has massive delays due to the weather. JFK is better but no direct flights from my home airport.

I really hate Dulles, like with a passion.
