So I am just learning that if you book a roundtrip ticket to another region with points, you can add two other one way tickets within the region you fly into for 0 points.

Has anyone used this and found some really sweet spots?

I saw an example where someone went from US to Peru, added a round trip to the Galápagos Islands for 0 and then back to their original us destination.

Another example would be using 60k RT points to get to europe, and adding two one way tickets within Europe for free.

You only get one of those one-way tickets for free.

"he Excursionist Perk is a free one-way award within select multi-city itineraries. Members who book an itinerary with three or more one-way awards will be eligible to receive one of those one-way awards for free"

"If two or more one-way awards qualify for this benefit, only the first occurrence will be free."

Example from United:
ORD - LHR 30,000
LHR - CDG 0
CDG - ORD 30,000
Total 60,000

ETA: I've been looking at using this for a short stop somewhere on the way back from Slovenia next Spring. Thinking maybe Dublin for a couple days. Would probably make sense to pick a location in somewhat of the direction toward home.
