I was told today that I may not be allowed into Canada if I’ve had a DUI on my record
It was 9 years ago as I was younger and dumb
Anyone know about this?

Yes, they are very strict on DUIs. It will be up to the border control agent to let you in or not so its a gamble. You can apply for a Criminal Rehabilitation Permit which if approved allows you into Canada.

Supported. I work in Calgary and part of my work permit application had an explicit section asking if I had been convicted of any “driving while intoxicated” offenses. Strict they are. Nevermind the heroin and opiate issues they have running rampant among their youth.

Take this for what it is worth, but my friend has 2 DUI's on his record, both from over 10 years ago. He's been to Canada a few times in recent years with no problems. I think if they're more than a few years old, they're a little more lenient.

They've recently strengthened the requirements. You absolutely have to do the temp resident permit or criminal rehab paperwork.
