We are flying out to Boston next week.
Wednesday-Sunday.
Going to 2 Red Sox games Friday and Saturday night.
Trying to find things to do all day Thursday and during the day before the games.
Any suggestions or good places to eat?
Thanks in advance!

Brewery tours of Sam Adams or Harpoon.
I enjoyed the Duck Tour.
Check out the North End (Little Italy) Mikes Pastry was solid.
Before the game go to the surrounding bars for a few drinks. We checked out a few of them and enjoyed all of them.
Get food from a food stand outside the stadium pregame.
Visit the Boston Marathon Finish line.
The T (Subway) was great for getting around on our trip.
If you like IPA's the green monster IPA in the stadium is good IMO.

Thats all I can think of at the moment, we had a short trip which took place after the marathon a few years ago.

Still happy to answer any specific questions people have. But that guide should cover most of it.

Using the subway the best route to go?
We have rental cars but didn’t know the parking situation. And how much it would cost parking.

Cancel the rental cars unless you are planning on doing excursions outside the city. You’re much better off either using the T or Ubering. Will be faster and much cheaper.

Not to mention if you aren’t used to driving in Boston it can be...intimidating. Basically, drivers here are assholes.

Parking varies depending on where you are, but overnight it’s safe to assume about $40-50 easily.

Second that.
Do not need a rental car.
Like he said, unless you have time to do day trips I would scrap the rental.
Uber can get you anywhere and the T can get you anywhere on top of walking.
Parking is ridiculously expensive if you can even find somewhere to park and you will just end up walking a lot once you park.

Island Creek for oysters, lobster roll, clam chowder and martinis. Rage at Bell N Hand near Quincy Market.

I mean no disrespect, everyone should do what makes them happy when they travel, but my advice is:

Brewery tours of Sam Adams or Harpoon.

No to Sam Adams, way too touristy and a pain to get to. Yes to Harpoon.

I enjoyed the Duck Tour.

Very touristy and if you go during traffic it can be a nightmare. But it is a good way to get the lay of the land.

Mike's is fine but it's a tourist trap. Bova is right down the street, has better pastries, and is a great local spot.

Yes.

No. If you don't want to have a sit down meal before the game, grab something from Tasty Burger right outside the ballpark. Get the Rise and Shine, it's awesome. But there are a ton of great restaurants in the Fenway/Kenmore area that I'd recommend grabbing a meal at. Island Creek Oysters (as one poster mentioned), Eastern Standard, Eventide, etc.

Yes and yes.

That's probably the best option for beer in the ballpark, but definitely don't seek it out anywhere beyond there. Much better options in restaurants and bars (usually)

agree with this, so many better options. I have driven in many of big cities trying to park ours from Martha's Vineyard and it was the most stressed Ive ever been.
