I don’t know if you have the app or not, but I had it and just walked straight through last week.

The "reasoning" is because they want to inflict as much inconvenience as possible. Just like shutting down national parks as part of the government shutdown. Those parks could stay open with no services, but if they did then the government shutdown wouldn't affect many normal Americans.

The past several times I’ve flown the Precheck line was just as long as the general one. Same speed too
