What is within reason and how much are you looking to spend? Any things you really like or dislike?

5 or so hour drive. Not terribly concerned with price but don’t want to spend a ton. We like a wide variety of things. Food, drinks, big cities, small old towns/cities, history, breweries, distilleries, wineries( I realize a lot of these may be closed to public). Beach is an option also but looking for something different

It's tough to really enjoy many places this time of the year within that distance to me, so I usually pick the beach.
1- Check out the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear. It is a great resort and is on the Mobil Bay and very near Fairhope. Fairhope is a neat little town and does have a brewery, good restaurants, and bars.
2- Maybe do a combo of two nights each at the Hilton Resort on Pensacola Beach and a place in the town itself. Pretty cool area.
3- Lot's of choices for Orange Beach.
4- Do a few nights at a B&B or one of the new hotel in Bay St. Louis paired with a night or two at the Hard Rock in Biloxi.
5- Stay in the Southern Star hotel in old town Covington for a few nights paired with a quick trip to New Orleans.

Haven't been myself, but have heard good things about Hot Springs AK. It's on our short list of nearby places to visit.
