I booked/changed my LSU game flight to MDW earlier today for 79
Unfortunately the MKE-MSY fare was not affected by the sale
I did book it a while back though so it wasn't yet too outrageous

That's a great deal for that weekend. Hopefully others here will join you on that flight.

I actually just got back from Chicago this past weekend
Tickets were 84 each way Thursday and Saturday (direct). With points and a travel credit I already had, wife and I flew for about 70 bucks total

Surprised you were able to get a $84 for summer, thats pretty good for the route. I've been browsing and not seen too many cheap flights MSY-Chicago for a while. I'm used to seeing the $99 roundtrips though

Not only that, I was able to book them less than 2 weeks before the flight
I checked on Saturday morning and they still had WGA fares on my flight home for 84

This is all round trip Cuse?
Looking to possibly do a little getaway with the wife if possible in that time period.
Know of any "cheap" flights for around the August 11th weekend?

Yup, everything posted is a roundtrip price. Unfortunately Aug 11th is two weekends early for all these prices (start on the 23rd). Let me take a look around and see if I can find something for ya
ETA: New Orleans to Orlando is $90 on Allegiant, Cincinnati is $108, and Jacksonville is $78 roundtrip AND nonstop... Those are pretty good deals to me for a quick weekend getaway. Dates are Thurs night Aug 11th- Sunday Aug 14th

I've been waiting for Msy to Chicago prices to drop to visit family but so far, no go!

cheapest and best getaways that weekend?
Interested in the Orlando or Jaxx. Orlando I have fam nearby so that would be a possibility.
(sorry for being picky, just taking advantage of your skills, lol....instead of an upvote/downvote they should have "tip the helper")

They've dropped for late August through December on Southwest if you want that. $158 really isn't all that bad, it may end up getting cheaper but I'd call that reasonable

Well technically the absolute cheapest is Tulsa for $66 on Allegiant. I figured if you want a getaway Tulsa probably isn't exactly where you wanted to go in mid August . Tulsa flights
Otherwise yes Jacksonville or Orlando it is!
Jax flights
Orlando flights

yeah not a fan of Tulsa haha, thanks!
Yeah like I said, Orlando/tampa is ideal since I have fam in the area. Jax would be fun to go to St. Augustine etc.
I'll look into both now and see what works. Both would be nice cheap getaways since 78 roundtrip x2, a rental car and a hotel wouldn't be a rough trip.
Orlando we'd be getting picked up probably via fam, staying at fam's place, and they have boat/party barge etc. that we'd kick back and relax all weekend.
would be fun either way.
Thanks for the help!

That to me sounds well worth a $90 getaway... I also added some of the other destinations in the Allegiant thread I just made. Looks like you could do Pittsburgh, St. Petersburg/Clearwater or Cincy as well if interested

Hey Cuse - do you know how long this sale lasts? I'm doing my bachelor party in Austin in November and have some guys still living in LA that would be interested in the sale.
Posted on 6/8/16 at 10:41 am to CuseTiger
I go up for Christmas so trying to space the visits but maybe September would work!
Posted on 6/8/16 at 10:42 am to AbitaFan08
It goes through November (think the week before Thanksgiving??). What date is your party? I can let you know of the cheapest dates around then. Also, I'd tell them to book it today if they're actually going to come. I've never seen it this low ($79 each way) for the nonstop MSY-AUS
Posted on 6/8/16 at 10:44 am to CuseTiger
Yeah I've been keeping an eye on the flights and certainly never seen them this low. Dates are 11/10-11/13, so we should get in right under the wire.
Edit: also need flights for the same dates to Austin out of Logan - is Southwest doing a sale out of Boston too?

Well for the 11th it's $84 there, on the way back it's $163 for the nonstop since it's a sunday. Overall $247 isn't bad for a thursday-sunday nonstop IMO. Plus if the price ends up going down on that sunday trip they can request a trip credit from southwest

For your flights, first off I had no idea southwest flew nonstop Boston-Austin...
Secondly, a one-way on jetblue down there on 11/10 is $104 for their nonstop flight 7am-10:45am BOS-AUS
Southwest's nonstop is $144 leaving Boston at 1:10pm arriving Austin at 4:55pm.
For the way back on 11/13, I'd suggest the southwest nonstop for $176 leaving Austin at 1:35pm-arriving Boston at 6:35pm
Total is $280 for your flights
