Fly into Porto for three nights. We’re gonna look at surrounding areas nearby as well. We fly out of Lisbon six nights later and wanna stay in Lisbon area for three nights as well. We got everything figured out but the middle three nights. We wanna stay in the southern part by the beaches and small towns; just not sure which one(s). Any advice from travelers in this area?

When I went to Lisbon I stayed at an AirBNB in the Alfama area. Great little area with a ton of pubs, music, wine bars, and close enough to walk to many of the highlights you wanna see.

We’re staying in that exact area for the latter half of our trip; but I have no idea where to stay in Southern Portugal. I appreciate the input as it reinforces me wanting to stay in that area while there.

Averio is a nice university town between Porto and Lisbon that has a great student-influenced bar/restaurant area along with historical and cultural attractions. The town is located in coastal wetlands and has sand beaches close by to the west. I've seen that Averio is showing up on more and more tour itineraries.
In general, Portugal and its people are great to visit.
