Scott's Cheap Flights has a promotion going on for Premium

If you sign up for a 2 week free trial between now and Sunday you can get Premium for 10 bucks off ($39) for the year once the trial is up.
I get the emails from them, I have no idea if Premium is remotely worth it living in an non-hub city. We generally find deals with out.
But I may sign up for the free trial just to see.

I also don't pay for Premium since I'm not in a hub city. Plus my schedule isn't as flexible as it once was, so I can't quite jump on the cheapest rates as in years past.

Non hub city here, but premium member here, Memphis. Trick is to wait for a destination you are interested in visiting. I pretty much only consider nonstops at this point.
Once you have narrowed down, you then search for a “positioning flight” and would pay with points.
Example: I see a nonstop flight from Miami to Copenhagen. I get a nonstop fare on AA from Memphis to MIA with points. Then book your Scott’s Deal MIA to CPH. I’ve found this is the most practical way from a non hub airport.

I've never used Scott's but why does a non-hub not make sense? Do they only show hub deals?
I have done Europe flights out of Atl, Chic, Charlotte, and DC.

There are vastly more flight deals out of hubs that they send. The more competition the better too. JFK is always popping up for deals.

I have Scott's. Like it. You can set any departing airport you want. Issue is you won't get all that many deals from smaller airports like Nashville. It'll tell you where you can depart from (i.e. JFK or...).
But..you can use it to find the deals and then consider connecting flights to get there.
However, I've become a HUGE fan of "Kara and Nate's" FareDrop program. Same issue as Scott's, i.e. you obviously get more and better deals out of Atlanta for example, BUT 9/10 times those exact same discounted fares are from your closest airport. Example: I set my departures cities for Nashville, Louisville and Atlanta. I'd have to get to Louisville or Atlanta somehow, so that's time and costs. ALMOST every time I can go to a search engine (like Google) and still find great deals directly out of Nashville even though the alert (and you get these emails all the time) didn't have it. Or, I just drive/fly to those cities and it's still cheaper.
Now, these are currently only coach fares, but well worth the cost (can't remember but it's like $34-$40/year) to me.

Absolutely. The problem with not setting a local airport though is it’s not always easy or worth it to then add a flight to your trip, most of the time really.
For example I got a $400 fare from my airport through Atl to Dublin. But the Atl to Dublin fare was a similar amount, if I then add a $200 or more round trip from my home base to Atl it’s not cheao anymore.
Certainly worth doing both the hub and your local airport most likely. My only issue is I have 3-4 if not more hubs I’d fly through.
But yes, if you live in a major Euro hub it’s crazy how cheap you can routinely find deals.
