Going on a cruise over thanksgiving. Pregreso is the first port. Need some advise on what there is to do there.

I just went last summer, it's still very under developed. We were told the best thing to do there was take our excursion to an all inclusive resort on the beach for 3 hours (4 hour excursion window with a 30 minute drive to and from the resort). At the resort we had access to the buffet, which was basically ball game nachos and other crap food BUT it was an open bar and those bar tenders are heavy handed. I kept drinking "Mayan Rivera's" and I got hammered.

You can go on your cruise lines website and look up what to do at that port and if you can't decide what you want to do now you can easily book your excursion while on the boat.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

Only thing we were interested in was the Mayan Ruins and that's what we did. It wasn't a far ride and was pretty cool.

Very reasonable prices for a bucket of beers and food under a palapa on the beach. Last time I went the family enjoyed a beach day and did a little trinket shopping along the waterfront stores. Check out cruise critic for more info.
There are several people at the end of the long pier hawking excursions. Also check out shoreexcursioneer. LINK
