Agreed. Xplor is neat for kids as well.

Report back on how bad the seaweed is at SMB. Apparently alot of the Caribbean is having seaweed problems. I was thinking of going to SMB because of the good beach, but that may not be the case anytime soon.

It’s not. It is day to day. There is a huge trip advisor thread about it. One day it will be crystal clear and the next there will be piles 3 foot high

Im leaving for Cancun next week and I just found out about the seaweed problem yesterday after looking through Trip Advisor. The beaches and water look like hell. Wish I would've known this before I booked last month. Now Im lloking at spending some time at Isla Mujueres as it appears the north end is not having issues. Heres an article that talks about the seaweed.

WE have had it in other Caribbean locations over the past 15 years. The last two times in Dominican Republic, we had it bad. It sucks for somewhere like Maroma beach which is usually so perfect.

Me and the Mrs. went there last year. We used Kay Tours for a tour of Tulum and several cenotes. I would highly recommend checking them out for a any tour you want to do.
