I’ve visited NYC 3 times.
You will see some characters and people will be asking for $.
The subway is generally safe, just make sure you don’t miss your stop late at night.

Rode it several times this weekend. Was better than it was in 2021 (maybe it was 2022). Whole city looked better honestly.
