You have some alternatives which will assuredly be safe. There's Margaritaville on Lake Conroe, and the Gaylord Texas with a lazy river, etc., in Dallas.

Sometimes we can't just get what we want at the time, like when the Notre Dame burned down the week before I took my kids to Paris.

I'd cancel. We live in Austin and it's been raining for days after the initial flood. Lake Austin is closed and they're encouraging people to stay off the water.
