Need recommendations on Clinton Mississippi Hotels

My son has a cross country meet in the middle of October in Clinton, MS, Watson High School. What is a good area to stay in for 1 night.

There’s just some average run of the mill chain hotels all clustered together at the exit off I-20.
Holiday Inn
Hilton Garden
Fairfield
Etc
I don’t know of any like boutique hotel there.

I've stayed at the Fairfield and the Hilton Garden Inn there.
The Fairfield stay was this June. I got in late and left early in the morning. The bed was fine, and the room was clean, but the rest is pretty much a blur. :)
The Hilton stay was several years ago during the Covid madness, and they had their breakfast kitchen shut down. The hotel was new then. I was there for three nights. It was fine, but the Google reviews are not that great.
