I agree. I enjoyed my visit each time I have gone.
I think the scenery in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden as you approach Berchtesgaden from the west on 305 is some of the most beautiful scenery of the northern Alps.

I wanted to update this thread.
Austria has given exemptions on needing a vignette in several areas. On A1 from German border at Walserberg to Salzburg Nord is exempt from having a vignette. There are several others and I will update this post when I get off of work.
The above shows exemptions in blue and is described below

Its no border control there, police stay there 24/7 and check all cars visually. If you want stress free transfer to Salzburg you can check this web> LINK /
They specialize on private transportations and serve tourists from different countries. My friend use them during 2019 Europe vacation and loved their service.

The wife and I went to this area a couple years ago. Salzburg is beautiful, but if you have time, definitely spend a day in Innsbruck. It’s not too far from both Salzburg and Munich, and it’s by far the most beautiful city in Austria/Germany that we visited.

This will take about 2 hours. It is better to drive along the A94 road. I also recommend thinking about safety and reading on the road about how to install mspy on android and use it when traveling. A very useful application
