I see them on sites and have never met anyone that has gone on one.
Anyone here been?

Regular cruiser, Carnival and Celebrity. I have heard NOTHING but bad things about MSC. It’s cheap, but I suggest avoiding them at all costs. They’re an Italian line and gear their cruises toward a European crowd. They are owned by a woman whose husband bought the line for her to run basically as a hobby. All of the entertainment is Opera. I’m not kidding. Opera. They don’t seem to understand the American cruiser.
They hosted a major gay cruise that several friends of mine went on. They all said never again and the service was the worst they’d ever experienced on a cruise. The company that hosts that event has gone back to RCCL.
My facialist on Celebrity told me a friend of hers didn’t even complete her contract on the line because they are so poorly managed.
An MSC ship followed the same itinerary we had a couple of years ago. It docked next to our ship in Miami. There were constant announcements for all passengers to come settle their bill before disembarking. Most lines take care of that digitally or passengers square up before the ship docks the night before.
I know this is anecdotal, but I would not take a risk sailing with them and spending my hard earned money on their ships. Also, don’t take my word for it. There are YouTube reviews. Jim Zimmerman (Jim Zim) gives very honest reviews, sails several brands, and has a review of MSC that matches pretty much what I detailed. Check him and other reviews out.

Interesting.
So what about Holland America or Ocienia, etc? If I were to book something nicer than the average lines are all the passengers going to be 65 and older?

Bumping an old thread because I happened upon this cruise out of Port Canaveral for a stupid low cost. Backstory is I have a work conference in Tampa next week and was gonna spend the weekend / 4th Holliday somewhere near by (Clearwater). Started looking into cruises out of Orlando and the MSC Divina popped up with an itinerary to the Bahamas and Ocean Cay Marine Reserve. I have small kids so was thinking this could be an option but the reviews are super mixed. We aren’t picky people and won’t be expecting Disney cruise type of experience but free meals and drinks for the travel days sounds like a pretty good deal as long as I wake up with my kidneys intact.
