I would like to take my grandson (7 yrs old) to see the Battleship Alabama in Mobile Al. Saturday. Can anyone recommend a kid friendly hotel not to far off I-10 preferably with a swimming pool? Thanks in advance.

If it's an out and back trip, I'd suggest the Margaritaville Hotel in Biloxi. No casino there, and very kid friendly.
And now Margaritaville Paradise Pier amusement park has opened next door.

Both Battle House and Renaissance have rooftop pools overlooking the river.
On the other side of the bay, Hampton Inn Daphne has a million dollar view (have to requst bay-view!) and a nice little pool. Can take him to Bass Pro or Waffle House, too.
Also rember there a few trails in Maher state park, the 5-rivers rec area across the highway from Maher, and ten minutes up the road in Blakely park.
Finally you can usually see a gator in the lagoon behind the above-mentioned Hampton.
Enjoy.

I agree with both of the posters. Margaritaville if you want to stay in Biloxi and ride over for the day. Not to far. About 45 miles.
Staying in Mobile would only be downtown. Avoid Tillman's Corner and the Beltline.
