Well, Travel sorta.

Two of my good friends are planning to move Minneapolis this summer, one of them to go to grad school at University of Minnesota, the other to support him, and make a living.

I’m trying to gather some information on some areas they should consider renting. Maybe more importantly, any areas that they shouldn’t consider.

Any other info welcome too.

Only assuming age because one will be in graduate school, but North Loop is a great neighborhood for young professionals. A lot of apartment / condo rental options + loaded with restaurants, breweries, and cocktail bars. It's a well-put together neighborhood that doesn't really toe into pretentious. Bonus is, you're walking distance from Target Field and Target Center. Grad school friend can pop on the Green Line for East or West Bank stations.

North Loop is probably the best area for the young professional crowd and a lot of access to downtown stuff and the river.

Northeast MPLS and Marcy Holmes Neighborhood has been growing a lot and has a lots of great breweries, local restuarants. NE feels less "big city" until you get close to the river but even then has good vibes. Both Still reasonable distance to the university area.
